If u can, u want the ultimate edition. I bought this when it first came out so I already triple dipped over the development. It's a fun game. Kid-friendly version of Diablo 3. But great for adults! Has lord of the ring vibe as well in its narration.

This and Tekken 7 are two games I wish I had waited. They don't even offer the previous editions but mainly offer standard edition or ultimate edition for the new customers. My only wish is that they do what steam does, prorate the price for items a customer already owns. Of course, Microsoft just states for consumers to be careful not to pay again rather than let their system calculates a prorated price. I have the disc, and all digital dlc. I'm contemplating purchasing the digital base game but it's that much more I paid for the series. The prorated price would make this easier for me, I don't feel like paying for the convenience fee of digital download. The lesson? I will wait for Minecraft legend ultimate edition when it becomes $19.99 eventually.

My family and I found that minecraft dungeons on the switch to be almost unplayable.
Framerates are super low and the whole thing lags/glitches. We bought for my son years ago but never actually finished it due to how poorly it runs. It should have never been put out on the switch and one of the only games that I completely regret purchasing on switch. PS5 version should run way better.

Online is a separate subscription model. However, I had my kids do up to 4-player split screen on Xbox (add guests, if u don't want to register). I just claim free worlds when they come. I don't do the online bc, I have issue with "ownership" with games even though I know it won't be there 20 years down the line.

Thanks, I was about to go with switch version to justify quadruplet payment on this game (disc hero edition, deluxe upgrade, now ultimate?! And now back to digital base repurchase and toss disc — seriously somebody regulate these messy business models). Now I'm deciding between PC or Xbox, I might just take the hit on Xbox since I got like Xbox stations between houses. But if it works on PC, I hope it's ok on Rog ally.

Update: went with Xbox and retro bought standard game after having bought DLC. . Strange that it allows me to purchase "ultimate" edition despite me having all of the items. Doesn't recognize that I have them all.

I have the PS4 physical game and my son plays a lot. Should I go ahead and buy the digital copy just as a backup as I am not sure if the disk will last heavy usage. Please advise.

I have the PS4 edition physical game and my son plays it a lot. I play once in a while. Should I consider buying this as a backup since it is $10? I am worried if the disc breaks then I would have to buy the game at full price later. Please advise.

I answered my own question. Minecraft Dungeons is *not* Play Anywhere, so buying on one platform does not enable playing on another.
