Curious.. what was the reason of busted pipe? Copper pipe or PEX?
The Flo has been reliable for me so far. The water monitoring is no where near as detailed as Flume's, and it's pretty pathetic when trying to map water usage events to appliances/faucets/toilets in my own experience. If that's what you want out of it, I would not recommend it.
But, it does track the water usage (even if it sucks at mapping it properly). In the first year, it's successfully caught toilets running on multiple occasions and a tap that was left on by one of my kids. It called me on the phone to shut off the water just as it was supposed to. I've also had zero issues with connectivity - I know other folks have had issues with this, but I haven't.
For false positives, yes it does throw them. It's generally happened only where the water usage is pretty abnormal/atypical, like taking a long shower at night (when I don't normally do that) or watering some plants for an extended period of time, or washing my car. While those are false positives, it's something I'm happy it detected, because those are the exact types of things I would want it to detect if there was an actual leak. It does give you a call on the phone 5 minutes before it's going to shut off the water as a heads up, which is nice. If there is a false positive and you have your phone on you, that gives you a chance to keep the water running and ignore the alert.
There is a manual valve on the unit that you can turn if the power/wifi goes out.
I'm short, the detailed water usage monitoring sucks, but the Flo has done it's job for me in shutting off the water when it needs to and has been reliable.

If you think well water is magically filtered and contaminant free, you're delusional.
