I bought it when it was on sale at $1400 from them. But never seen it go below.
Excellent sound quality/reproduction. Obviously you need complimenting speakers.

If you can get past the one eyed robot look this is a fantastic receiver. For some reason, my ears always prefer movie soundtracks played through Yamaha receivers.

Paid a similar price for an RX-A6A, 1-1/2 years ago from Adorama, and totally happy with it. Using an existing RX-A3000, which I upgraded from, as an external amp for 9.4.2 configuration and it sounds fantastic.

SVS ultra towers, center, and bookshelves for rear surround. Svs prime atmos. Only using the receivers amp for my atmos channels and have the towers on the balanced xlr to my 5 channel monolith 5x 200/watt channel amp. everything besides atmos channels on preamp. Dual HSU vtf3-mk5's for subs. Sound quality from my old yamaha aventage 1070 is substantial. Very happy. New remote is so much nicer too with the backlit buttons. Started with Denon years ago. that thing ran hot and stopped working after two years. this is my third yami and they all still work great. they run cool and have excellent dac's on board. No weird gremlins and they just work..reliably.

Should add that when you register a yamaha aventage receiver, yamaha adds an additional two years of warranty so 5 years total.

Use the amp reassign on the RX-A6A and plug the pre-outputs to the multi channel input of the RX-A3000. Set the output to 0.0dB and use pure direct mode. That's the simplified version...there's been a whole lot of learning and tweaking using Room EQ Wizard (REW) to get it dialed in to sonic glory. I have a sudo front wide channel with the mains and refer back to my use of REW.

YPAO get you in the ball park, REW knocks it outta the ball park

What will be your reasoning for this? I am waiting for A6A but can buy it if it is worth it. I am currently wired for 9 channels.
