My wife left me when I bought this.

I made the right choice.

So I have a Denon AVR-X3400H running my 5.2 system. No atmos, just standard surrounds with dual subs. Would this make any sense at all compared to what I'm already running?

Unlikely. This isn't going to provide better sound quality or offer any sort of game changer that the Denon doesn't already provide.

So Audio Science Review does NOT recommend the Onkyo TX-RZ50 since the amplifier section is marginal at best. See https://www.audiosciencereview.com /forum/index.php?threads/onkyo-tx-rz50-review-home-theater-avr.30842/ for their review. Don't forget to take out the spaces.

OK... So the amp section is lacking... What do you think about using the TX-RZ50 as a surround sound preamp/processor? Just add a good multichannel power amp (you chose the number of channels) to the pre-outs...

For those that might have missed it.

Here is a video from a renowned AV Professional(AA) who worked directly with Dirac that gives you best/key tips & tricks to optimally use Dirac Live.

It's extremely helpful walking you through how to use Dirac Live optimally/properly & explains common mistakes/confusion issues that often come up!

These applies to any Dirac Live capable receiver.

This is Rz line. Have an older unit over 6 years old.

Longer warranty and heavier amps etc. 3 year Warranty on RZ line.

This is a great deal on what's supposed to be a great receiver.

Do I upgrade? Damn this inflation makes spending difficult.
