Fine print says 'Please allow up to 8 weeks after your qualifying purchases to post to your account' which is odd, bc a few Chase Bonuses I've activated in the past were pretty quick to show the bonus points.
I guess I'll use my Discover IT until I confirm the 5% is indeed posting for the Chase Amazon card.

I remember my freedom unlimited had the same bonus category a few quarter's back, and the bonus point details were exactly how you described.
Going to try the AmazonPrime card on a restaurant too since that was one of the bonus categories.
When using the Chase cards make sure to check for Chase Offers. For example, right now on my Chase Amazon Prime card I have 2-5% offers from Chevron, RaceTrac and Circle K. When activated they stack on top of the 5% gas

It appears to cap out at 5% max. It won't stack to 10%.
Also, it appears there is no advantage to buying at Circle K/Chevron with both promotions enabled.
I wonder if the 2% ($0.96) counts towards the $1000 limit on this promotion since I would get it anyways ("non-Bonus")? The website doesn't show a progress meter towards the promotion limit like Discover has for their quarterly promotions.
I'm waiting for a pending Wendy's counter transaction to clear from Wednesday. It's categorized as "food and drink", not "restaurant/dining". I hope it won't get screwed up.

I have had the stacking work on Freedom cards on top of the 5% quarterly cash back. Perhaps it is different on the Amazon Prime card with this special bonus. But I see no indication of that in the fine print.
Chase has a Rewards box at top right of the website. There is a clickable arrow to Amazon Rewards Points where things are broken down by category and percentages.

I know Chase has a category breakout but it's still unclear if only 3% of the fuel purchase counts toward the $1000 limit. Just the "Bonus", or all 5%? Discover has a nice progress bar showing how much more spending you can do within a category during their promotion towards the quarterly $1500. Once I hit the $1000 i'll go back to using my BoA card with 3% on gas and my WF card that pays 2% no categories.
My Wendy's purchase did yield 5%, too, so that's good.
