I believe you have replied to a wrong post (which should be here)
It takes a T5 screwdriver to remove 6 long and 4 short screws. Had to use a plastic pry tool to unclip the bottom cover after T5 screws were removed.
The screen at full brightness looks the same as a 250-nit screen side by side, even though the spec says 300-nit.

This is what I have done/tried similarly with my Core-i3-1215U Lenovo laptop. (Lenovo officially saying only support 16GB).
Indeed, Crucial [crucial.com] says that it could take up to 40GB (+32GB).
According to Intel, Core i3-1215U [intel.com] can support up to 64GB memory (but this is also subject to other factors)
But if someone has had success going beyond what the spec sheet says (adding a 32GB stick in the empty ram slot of THIS model ideapad with the same SKU as in the posting 82QD00DHUS) then I think I'll grab this asap!!
It's a pretty good laptop. 24gb might be overkill tho. I've never seen it use more than 10-11gb out of 24 even with a bunch of browser windows open.
So far I'm liking it a lot!
Got it out of S mode, uninstalled McAfee (using Windows Security) and some of the MS Office stuff (Teams personal, etc.), customized the UI it the way I'm used to for my PCs (dark mode, task bar to the left and showing all, etc).
Battery had no charge when I got it but it charged fast. Screen has some light bleed when full black but not otherwise. I'm only using this for work so I don't care. Screen colors, brightness and viewing angles are all nice. I also like the built-in physical cover for the camera. Oh, and the screen can open almost flat (180 degrees)! Hinges are solid but not too stiff.
Keyboard is a full one with the number pad on the right. Weird bridge between the enter key and the \ key above it. FN key between Ctrl and the Windows Key. It's not a bad keyboard but planning on using an external keyboard. Trackpad is responsive and feels nice.
Ordered 16GB Ram which I'll install tomorrow but even with the onboard 8GB it seems plenty fast for normal tasks.
Overall very happy. Thanks OP!

If it starts to slow down I will just plug in a memory stick in the extra slot. She will be using the cloud for storage so 256 is not an issue for her.
Again she will be using it mostly from home so battery life is not a problem but I did test how long a full charge lasts by playing leaving it while playing a youtube music video that was more than 3 hours long at about 80% brightness and 70% volume. It easily lasted the video with about 57% of battery life still left.
The only other downside is the barrel type charger so no USB C charging.
Pretty decent deal especially if you upgrade with a 16gb stick and expand storage on the M.2 slot.
Finger is on the trigger… "Do I need another computer?"
how BIG of a difference would one see if they stick a 32GB stick into that empty slot to get 40gb total ram (8gb soldered+ 32gb) vs sticking a 16GB stick to get 24GB total ram? would this upgrade from potentially 24GB of ram to 40 be significant in terms of computer's performance?? or NEGLIGBLE and unnecessary??
thanks
