Have both P7 and P8. Yes, the P8 is slightly more comfortable... has HDMI output (finally)... and longer software support.

Still, unless I absolutely needed HDMI output, I wouldn't upgrade. And if I needed that, I wouldn't have bought a P7 in the first place.

There's no way the low-RAM version of Gemini on the standard P8 is worth the upgrade. It literally does nothing worth that today.

Not sure if this will help you. My fingerprint sensor on the Pixel 7a was pretty bad too. I saw a recommendation online, to add a few fingerprints, but to just use the same finger for all of them. Maybe try that. It's made my fingerprint scanner much more reliable.

I remember a few years ago, people could upgrade from a Pixel 6 to Pixel 7 for $20. that was a steal. too bad they dont have such an offer anymore

If I trade in at the store, do I have to do it at the same time that I pickup the new one? I'd like to transfer all my data from one to the other before relinquishing the trade in.

Tempting as a pixel 7 is about 2 years old now. But boy do I hate migrating phones. The passwords in the apps don't carry over. Pain in the butt to retype passwords and I always forget them since I have fingerprint enabled. Is there an easier way?

Some do some don't from my experience. That being said I change phones about every 3-4 months and I have always had a good exp setting my new phone up with a backup.

Don't ever hand your data over to Blackrock. No matter how convenient it is. You log in will back up apps, but I would back up all media to a USB drive. It doesn't take but a few mins to transfer.

tempting but not a better deal than the 256gb pixel 7 i got from BB for $263 total with trade in. Plus i have no issues with my fingerprint sensor unless my fingers are wet or dirty. Face unlock is decent but either is no biggie for me anyway. Ima just lay low and see what kinda deals await the pixel 9.
