So the even numbers are a focus on integrated graphics like 6xxx and 8xxxx where as the more mainstream cpus like 7xxx and 9xxx are for full desktops even though they have integrated graphics also.
That means the 10xxx will be the next apus.
Think I get it lol

Going back to older versions there are both 5000 and 5000g series processor with things like the 5600g and 5600gt being based on the Laptop APU chips and the 5600 or 5600x being desktop based. To make things even more confusing things like the 5500 are basically a 5600g with the graphics disabled so share all the limitations and features of the 5600g not a 5600 like you'd expect.

The 7000 series laptop CPUs are particularly bad IMO.

Ryzen 7040 series ("Phoenix"): The only all-new chip in the lineup. A Zen 4 CPU combined with an RDNA 3 integrated GPU and built on a 4 nm process, this is the flagship for premium thin-and-light laptops without dedicated GPUs.
Ryzen 7035 series ("Rembrandt-R"): Ryzen 6000 with a new name.
Ryzen 7030 series ("Barcelo-R"): Ryzen 5000 with a new name. Barcelo was technically launched in 2022, but for most intents and purposes it was identical to 2021's "Cezanne" processors. These are the only CPUs in the lineup to include an integrated GPU based on the aging Vega architecture and to support DDR4 and LPDDR4 instead of DDR5 and LPDDR5.
Ryzen 7020 series ("Mendocino"): Already announced and launched, these use the old Zen 2 CPU architecture but otherwise are purpose-built from modern parts on a modern manufacturing process specifically for cheap laptops.
Obviously more cores with the 8700G, and you can upgrade to other AM5 parts in the future, but it just doesn't feel like an amazing value at the moment.

I just built 25 desktops for a computer lab using this CPU and the motherboard in this Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJTB2QV2
Downside is only 2 RAM slots and you need to update the BIOS before it will post, but it's pretty quick and easy to do.
