Question on this - how much of a difference did the Dirac provide you?

TIA
enough to make me change to dirac. YPAO is fine, not the best and not the worst. i do like how flexible and easy YPAO is in terms of making adjustments. however, I am pickier than most when it comes to imaging and room correction software and that is where dirac shines for me. there are a number of units available at reasonable prices (you can get a dirac avr starting in the $650 price range) and very capable units with a full set of higher end features for under $1,000.

I am having a problem with Netflix playback via Firestick when audio is sent to my Yamaha RX-A3080 using ARC. The Netflix playback stops every few minutes and returns the to the title screen, like a STOP button has been pressed. The problem does not happen when TV audio is used. The problem (strangely) does not happen on other streaming services (Prime, Disney+, Max, etc.) I suspect an HDMI problem. I have checked that connections are tight. Next up is to replace the cable, so curious as to what you had success with.

My fear is that it is the Yamaha HDMI board, which I had problems with on an earlier Aventage in the series and a service guy told me they are suspect.
The one that hasn't given me issues is a Zeskit certified hdmi 2.1 8k cable.

Funny. I spoke to Adorama about this and they had no clue what that code was. They said that Slickdeals makes their own codes. I tried to use it, but the purchase didn't go through. That's why I called them. The next day it showed expired. I hope it comes back. Awesome price.

Do any of the Dirac avr come with Dirac already activated or you always have to pay extra? Which one would you recommend that is at least 9.2, Dirac, and minimum 140w?

So what people don't tell you or don't like to hear.
Unlike other RCs people are accustomed to, Dirac separates their room correction software and in tiers.
Dirac Live is for your loudspeakers and comes in limited bandwidth & full bandwidth.
Dirac Live Bass Control is for your sub & whole bass integration. This is offered for a single sub or multi sub.

At this mid level point Onkyo/Pioneer/Integra "include"(roll in) DL full bandwidth. Only the newer models starting at $2800 offer DLBC for purchase.

Denon & Marantz starting with their 3800/Cinema 50 offer both DL and DLBC for purchase.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing because included is another very capable RC(Audyssey) especially now that they added directional sub setting & an available script called Audyssey One EVO.
You can easily find that it's very good also and Dirac is not needed especially for the price.
It's nice to know it's there if you do find you want it though.

Don't know what you mean by 140W min. There's no 9.2 channel mass market AVR w/Dirac that does 140W per channel. If you are ok w/140W for 20Hz-20kHz at 8 ohms into 2 channels, then you want the Onkyo RZ70/Pioneer 805/Integra DRX8.4.

here is a list of the AVRs that have Dirac Live included (Full bandwidth) and support at least 9.2. the wpc ratings are 2 channel. they are all sister products made by Onkyo. for the most part each comparable model is nearly identical in performance / features with a few small tweaks to differentiate each product. there are additional Dirac licenses available for an added cost for the top tier models.

100wpc models
Onkyo TX-NR7100
Pioneer VSX-LX305
Integra DRX 3.4

120wpc models
Onkyo TX-RZ50
Pioneer VSX-LX505
Integra DRX 5.4

140wpc models
Onkyo TX-RZ70
Pioneer VSX-LX805
Integra DRX 8.4
