If you have any desire to get an iPad (and you don't have any higher-end specific needs), this is a bargain.

For $200, you can run virtually any iPad application or iPhone application. It's an entirely capable device -- there's nothing "wrong" or poorly constructed with this model. Yes, other models have nicer features -- but they come at additional costs.

It's also relatively newish -- only one generation removed from current. So you'll get a few years of use out of it before Apple end-of-lifes it, just to get you to "upgrade".

This ipad plus one of those cheap android tracfones (even if you don't activate them on cellular) will give you the ability to run pretty much any mobile application available.

There are frequent sales on 13" M1 Macbook Airs (they are a 4 year old machine at this point), as well as sales on refurbished Dell business-class laptops (8th gen intel and later). For around $1000, you can get one device of each platform. No excuse to not be able to get anything done.

Wow what a deal. I know, it from 2021 and 64GB however it is perfect for internet browsing and social media consumption which is for 90% of folks out there.

Headphone jack and a home button are nice too!

Are you joking? Only $20 savings for an open return that is in fair condition is a fool's savings. Can get $10 off just with a target card.

watching videos on the 10th might be better because of the stereo speakers when holding it in landscape orientation
maybe you are right, but what is the current price of 10th gen compared to this NOW 199 price for the IPAD 9th gen that you can have in your hands TODAY (my amazon purchase is shipped and I should be getting it later today).
Also, the 9th gen can use the headphone jack to listen to movies, or you can use bluetooth devices to listen with headset or if you have google mini or echo dot's you can have movies play with better sound. I have the ipad 9th gen and the movies and stuff sounds good to me, and if I need a boost I have all types of google/echo/show devices to play more powerful soundscape.

What are you going to do, wait for the ipad 10th gen or buy the ipad 9th gen TODAY?

For some it unimportant or rather irrelevant thanks to the price.

lol you sure summed it up well. Debating between 9th gen vs 10th is unreasonable. Folks should know who they're are BEFORE buying anything lol

9th gen hand down the better choice for the $ for 90% of users. Some fussed about 64GB; not 256GB. Whatever to them.

For those with appropiate cards that save $: Amazon card 5% off or Costco 4% off ...which route Amazon or Costco are you experts going? Costco for the return policy alone?

Would you say this is worth the price? I'm just looking for browsing internet and playing games occasionally. I purchased a Samsung a9+ yesterday but now I'm questioning if I should get this instead.

does it matter? if you want that price there are plenty of other places to purchase it from right now
He probably has gift cards to burn, Walmart credit card to get 5% cash back purchased online, or perhaps an employee there. Who knows.

All in all, Walmart don't price match Frown

No m1 chip = out of date

Don't be fooled. This is a 5 year old product and a completely different (older platform) that apples current hardware.
If you look at the reviews of M1 iPads, there is a general consensus that the chip is being underutilized by the current capabilities of the iPad. They put it in because they already use it for their computers, not because the iPad needs it.

Gotta go with the 4% costco and return policy over the 5% off.
