If you have any desire to get an iPad (and you don't have any higher-end specific needs), this is a bargain.

For $200, you can run virtually any iPad application or iPhone application. It's an entirely capable device -- there's nothing "wrong" or poorly constructed with this model. Yes, other models have nicer features -- but they come at additional costs.

It's also relatively newish -- only one generation removed from current. So you'll get a few years of use out of it before Apple end-of-lifes it, just to get you to "upgrade".

This ipad plus one of those cheap android tracfones (even if you don't activate them on cellular) will give you the ability to run pretty much any mobile application available.

There are frequent sales on 13" M1 Macbook Airs (they are a 4 year old machine at this point), as well as sales on refurbished Dell business-class laptops (8th gen intel and later). For around $1000, you can get one device of each platform. No excuse to not be able to get anything done.

Wow what a deal. I know, it from 2021 and 64GB however it is perfect for internet browsing and social media consumption which is for 90% of folks out there.

Headphone jack and a home button are nice too!

Are you joking? Only $20 savings for an open return that is in fair condition is a fool's savings. Can get $10 off just with a target card.

Better yet for those with Amazon Prime Credit card get 5% cash back can buy about $125 in Amazon Gift card and then take advantage of Discover $10 off $75 so you maximize the 5% cashback while maximizing your Discover $10 off.

$125 Amazon Gift Card (5%) + $75 (Discover 1%) - $10 = $190 + tax.
Can you describe what is the $125 gift card deal?

The costco exec card gives 4% but costco charges shipping for this iPad.
No exec gives 2% and the credit card gives 2%. They are separate and paid separate as well.

My old 5th ipad is still working, not sure if I need get this one (BB offers $50 tradein for old one)
Interesting! It shows only $40 for my 6th gen ipad! $90 for my Galaxy Tab 6 Lite...I'm considering doing that since my Tab 6 Lite is painfully slow although it should be fast.
$0 for my 3rd gen ipad!

He probably has gift cards to burn, Walmart credit card to get 5% cash back purchased online, or perhaps an employee there. Who knows.

All in all, Walmart don't price match Frown
More than likely an employee discount. I told a friend of mine, that works at Target, a few days ago about this iPad being on sale today. He bought one and told me, before tax, it came out to $170 with his discount and Red card. That's without a warranty. I might have to ask him to pick me up one. 😏

Ah yes, that right. That another nice inclusion.

Bonus find—open box conditions available as low as $179.99!
I appreciate knowing the range of how low can we go (open box), so thank you! Everyone's financial situation is different so $20 savings (or more) can be huge, no judgement there. However, for the $20 difference, would suggest going with a brand new one at $199, knowing that battery cycles are 0 (or in single digit territory), you're getting a perfect device with no hairline scratches, dings, bumps, and that this has not graced any other porcelain thrones but yours (actually, not sure what new product testing includes now-a-days ...).

Why does Costco charge a $4.99 delivery fee on this? Hmmmm…
Because they're a for-profit company that doesn't like leaving money on the table?

you're paying about half the price of a new IPAD but also you're going to get about half the lifespan of a new IPAD as apple will stop updating this version eventually. you probably still get 4 or 5 years out of it but just something to think aobut
They stop updating all versions eventually. Otherwise, people would be entirely fine with first and second gen ipads -- there'd be no reason to upgrade if they didn't end support.

They don't become bricks the day the last OS update is released. It'll be a few months or even years before all the applications you use stop being supported on that OS. And even some of them are still being updated.

Sure, some people say "SECURITY!!!1!", but I don't trust anything mobile for banking in the first place. So much easier to do it natively on a desktop anyways. Casual couch browsing of the internet and watching local videos doesn't require 128-bit encryption anyways.

If you look at the reviews of M1 iPads, there is a general consensus that the chip is being underutilized by the current capabilities of the iPad. They put it in because they already use it for their computers, not because the iPad needs it.
it's not the chip that is a concern.. it's the lack of ram. 3gb is very low.. and yes.. blah blah blah apple silicon blah blah blah.. 3gb is low.

Got Space Grey [item 1601850] in-store at Costco for $199.99 (thru 9/7 per signage). 90 day return policy and manufacturer warranty doubled via Costco. Repped👍

What is the benefit of owning this compared to an Amazon Fire 10 HD tablet? The latest one has 3GB RAM and will be fine for most people. It's plastic, but it's only $99 and you should be able to sideload Google Play onto it.
100% get this over fire hd tablets... those are literally trash. don't get me wrong.. they have their place.. but an ipad for 200 is in a different league.
