Worked for about a year and was good enough. The AA wireless device (different device than this) has a slew of features and an app. The feature I ended up needing was to scale the android auto interface differently than OEM. It also switches between Apple and Android for those of you who also live in a house divided. Still a good deal for this one if you want a basic device.

Some newer cars don't have wireless android auto only wired AA by plugging in. This is nice to fix that and keeping your phone in your pocket

Thank you, for the reply and the feedback. I was mostly curious, though, about what the benefits of having an Android Auto device are? Is it basically just a glorified Bluetooth connection device? Or is there more to it, than that?
I don't go anywhere without AA running. I use Maps every day to and from work. It tells me the quickest route and any delays ahead, and can reroute if it finds a quicker route.

You can text and call without staring at your phone, and you can ask Assistant to play songs on Spotify with the press of a button.

I'd never buy a car without AA.

Yeah, I use Waze and it's a lifesaver! Smilie Today I ignored the route it suggested and I drove into a closed bridge. Cost me 35 minutes! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Live cop monitoring is the best tho.

Also, along with what you mentioned, your other options are Tidal, IHeart, Pandora and a few other app options. It can read text messages out loud to you and you can reply without taking your eyes off the road.

Bought one (at full price), and it worked well for about 13 months. Then it just stopped working entirely. Googling suggests it's a common issue, and the warranty is only one year, so it may not last the long haul. But for $36, it's not a bad price for at least a years worth of use.

Had this worked well with few disconnections everyone once and a while. Eventually I switched back to a high quality USB a to c and that fixed all my disconnect issues in my Honda

Then buy a cheap Bluetooth speaker for your car, that will definitely enhance that "ratty" car experience.
Ohh, good call. Will add it to my car, the most boring car in America.

lol, this you, posting a "smart watch"? A watch is an appliance, made to tell time from time A to time B, as cheaply as possible...

I dunno what is up with SD linking though, lol.
Okay then... what, 8-years ago. I bought a few and resold those things, didn't keep any and made a nice profit.

I do agree about watches and even phones being appliances as well. I have a free hand-me-down Garmin Vivoactive watch that my sister didn't want as my current watch. Current phone is a Moto G6 that I bought as a refurb >$100 (though I am caught up in that loser company Straight Talk's antics over unlocking) and will hopefully be upgrading to my free Moto G Power soon.

Couldn't resist the price and picked one up. It is someone's return or refurb. The box not sealed, no protective plastic on the unit, manual's corner unnaturally folded. I could at least check the box right by the counter and demand the replacement. Oh well... As they say, what you pay is what you get.
Going back tomorrow.

Update: OOS at my Target. Shipping only.

It has an old school orange text type calculator screen. And yes, like I said it was a boring car when it came out.

I had cars that were even older with GPS and displays, but not the current beast.
