Xfinity is charging me 115 for less speed in South Fla. I called them and they said they can do no better. Time to leave those creeps.

I was with AT&T for the 1gig plan at $80/month (also took advantage of the $300+ gift card offer) and I was very impressed. Very rarely was there downtime and if so it was never longer than 10 minutes. Was getting 1000+mbps up and down. Spectrum came to my door offering the same speeds at half the cost. Wind up swapping over but of course its cheaper because the upload speeds are never more than 20mbps. Fine for me for only $40 a month. But when I move again, I will be going back to AT&T.

If only we can get fiber in my neighborhood. Houses all built in 1998, stuck with Xfinity.

Anyone done cable modem vs fiber optic? Which one you like better?

Comcast better than ATT?

Comcast charge me $70 for 1.2gig, 1 yr contract, no TV. I am south of Atlanta.
I'm in this industry and I personally prefer to stay far away from AT&T even though they offer fiber in my area but comcast doesn't. I stay with comcast, but I also have traditional TV which I like holding onto.

Would rather a better provider provide fiber as i'd switch in a second but AT&T won't get my money.

I have Spectrum in Raleigh NC. I had 2 years of 300/200 at $30/mo which I was happy about, but then it went to $50/mo last year, and now it's $80/mo starting this month. AT&T fiber is available at $80/mo for 1gig, plus all these deals. I'd rather not have to deal with the hassle and go back to $50/mo, but if I'm going to pay $80, I might as well get these deals and the 1gig.

I am on ATT, same Spectrum came and offered good price for the internet + free phone and 1 month free of phone service. However, for me the upload speed was 10 mbps, and the download connection would drop every 5 min for 5-10 seconds. Since I am working from home, kept ATT and I am extremely happy with it.

It may notmatter to some people, but you will have 1gig up and down. If you test your speed many times a day and night you will most likely see you are not getting 300/200 all the time. Thats typically the case. With fiber you really maintain a very high speed and sometimes exceed it. Then many months later or a yr later spectrum will beg you on a come on deal. They already have your house wired. If they lose you no revenue. The cable companies are so dumb.

I do enough with upstream that I'd definitely enjoy the 1g/1g. Seems to be another $100 cb option as well. Pretty compelling.

I got the previous deal with $300 back in rewards but only got $150 worth card got delivered. The reward center customer care said records showed they attempted to deliver but they could not and it was returned to them. they have no answer as to how one card was delivered successfully.

They re issued the cards but those were returned back due to non-delivery as well. 1 re issue attempt is the max they try so I am now short of $150 even though it is no fault of mine ๐Ÿ˜”

Anyone else faced a similar situation ?

That's total bs. It's delivered using USPS mail. Is your address correct on your account?

Mine came in less than a month after service started.

Congrats on having at least having a 50 meg option! It's all about perspective...

About 10 years ago my office had AT&T 6 meg DSL (the only alternative was dialup). They kept raising the price too, going from $30/mo to $45/mo in less than a year for the same lousy 6 megs "because they want people to join their fiber network," which wasn't even available to our address.

We ended up paying another ISP $2k to lay the infrastructure to our building, which was paid for in less than a year with the money we saved by switching our land line phone services from AT&T to a VoIP (new voice + internet services were less than half the $300/mo AT&T was charging us).

AT&T has been trying to get aggressive the last few years, trying to sell us on our own private line but they don't have any hard line connections to our address yet (just the "Air" service available to us).

Looks like AT&T is now pushing AT&T DSL customer to AT&T Internet Air. If I understand correctly, in many states, AT&T or some local phone company must make sure landline service is available if customer want it(?) And now those local phone company apply for exception if wireless service is available in those area(?)
Meaning some area, AT&T DSL service customer (which use local landline infrastructure) may now force to convert to AT&T Internet Air when AT&T no longer require to provide landline in that area....
And AT&T no longer building up their Fiber network in some area to Resident neither with the push to AT&T Internet Air.

da_rubber_duckyYou can use EXTRA100 instead of BACK2SCHOOL for $25 more ($100 reward card). Stacks with GETJBL
I could not use this code initially until I removed the BACK2SCHOOL code... 'This code is either expired, invalid, or can't be combined with other offers you're already receiving.' You have to remove the other code first.
