Auto defrost works by heating the freezer to defrost....

So food lasts longer and doesn't get freezer burn as quickly if you have a manual defrost freezer that doesn't do that heating cycle.

Shipping for freezers suck. I ordered similar size freezers twice from Home Depot and both times they came severely dented. One time was local delivery and the other time was FedEx.

Slick deals needs slick information, YMMV I suppose. Got this delivered yesterday and had a minor dent, talked to them on the phone and they did not want pictures or any more information. They automatically sent me two $25 codes for my next two $45 purchases on whatever. She was nice though, not sure if it works out that way for everyone, she was so nice she said she wanted to refund me the full price and just keep the freezer lol

All the cheapest models have manual defrost. Ive never not seen at least one on display at Lowe's in the 11 years I've worked there. You can easily tell by looking at the shelving inside the unit.

My freezer box and exterior packaging looked mint condition, but there is a dent on the left side of the fridge door edge under the blue hold tape once unboxed. Looks like a B stock unit. Called our friends at the big W and awaiting a call or email from an escalation team to resolve.

Just received mine today. A small dent on the back corner and a dent on the middle of the door. Being that this will be in the basement i could keep it. I chatted with someone through the app and they said they can issue a return. But i asked if they could do a partial refund for me to keep it. Off the bat they said 20% off. I accepted. Issued the 20% refund right away. No hassle.

That's when you haggle with them to give you a discount. I wouldn't mind a slight dent if you can shave 50$ off

Mine just came in the mail. It does have one dent on the back right edge. Since it came in shipping I'm giving it a few days to relax before I turn on the compressor, but as long as everything works I'm fine with it. My fridge of the same brand had the same issue and it worked fine until I sold it. Going to put a side of beef in here in May 2025.

I have this freezer and generally like it. Only thing is that it does ice up at the top after about a month or two and have to defrost it every few months

Mine arrived with two dents on the top left of the door. I was offered 10%, but I got them to up it to 20%. Like others, it's going into the garage so not a huge deal.
