These are quite useful. A regular recprocating saw is heavy and requires 2 hands,. This is one and great to cut thick branches and roots. I would buy it if I didnt already own one. Get a demolition blade with this.

Its a low TPI (5-7) blade typically used for demolition work. Used to make quick cuts through multimaterial. Does fast work through branches, roots. Wont get destroyed cutting roots. The blades that come with the saw are mediocre and you wont appreciate the tool until you get a decent blade.

Not bad but fyi they released an updated version that is supposedly quite a bit better. I have the old one and it's fine but if I was buying now I'd probably get the new version. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../329062475

Does a demo blade work better on branches and roots than a pruning blade designed for branches and roots?

I've had good success with a pruning blade for that, but it never occurred to me to try a demolition blade.
Diablo pruning blade works better IMO. That's what it was made for.

Those things are vicious when it comes to branches. Works better than a chain saw for anything 10" and under.

So happy I finally landed one of these YMMV deals because I never have any luck. Showed 3 in stock at a location slightly farther away so took a chance and went and got the last one. Woohoo!

I got a Ryobi canister handheld vacuum that was on here for $30. I use it all the time and it's awesome.

Edit: it's called the job site vacuum

Maybe the demo blade works better if you have a bunch of nails and other construction materials embedded in your trees šŸ˜‚

Evanston Home Depot (North of Chicago) still has at least 5. Had to go to the clearance section to find them. Thanks OP!

I use the"regular" size recip saw with a pruning blade to cut up branches to fit in my yard waste cart. It was the cheapest model they had and was free with a combo kit. Thing lasted about 8 years through some absolutely reckless usage until the blade holder snapped on me this summer. Although I replaced the part, I'm kinda eager to try this in it's place. Picked it up tonight, had to spend 20 minutes scouring the overhead overstock until I eventually found one up there 6 aisles away from the tools. Fantastic get, thanks op!

I went to Huntington Beach SoCal, web site said in stock but no available. They checked their inventory around town and it shown 8 in Santa Ana SoCal. Got one at the end cap with sticker $60 clearance price, 5 left on the shelf around 9:30 PM PT.

Costa Mesa also has 6 in stock when they checked their computer.

The smaller brushless OP (tool only) or this non-brushless link below? I'm looking for versatility and value. Probably not a tool I use often but will be happy to have it when I do.

Maybe I get this OP Ryobi and wait for a SD on the Ridgid full size? Ridgid is my main tool squeeze, Ryobi is the less expensive and used less often fill in brand / line.

Thoughts? Anyone??
