These are quite useful. A regular recprocating saw is heavy and requires 2 hands,. This is one and great to cut thick branches and roots. I would buy it if I didnt already own one. Get a demolition blade with this.

Its a low TPI (5-7) blade typically used for demolition work. Used to make quick cuts through multimaterial. Does fast work through branches, roots. Wont get destroyed cutting roots. The blades that come with the saw are mediocre and you wont appreciate the tool until you get a decent blade.

Not bad but fyi they released an updated version that is supposedly quite a bit better. I have the old one and it's fine but if I was buying now I'd probably get the new version. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../329062475

If Scarface came out today would they use this instead of a chainsaw?

Diablo sawzall blades go hard. Demolition is great for garden use too.

They go on sale all the time.

Surprised that someone doesn't make a meat carving blade for reciprocating saws.

Now I kind of wonder if those electric meat carving knives that came out in the 60s are what inspired the idea for a reciprocating saw.🤔
Yum, gear and machine grease on food…

Paid around $40 for this. It's not bad. Just another reciprocating saw. I have a Kobalt as well and they both do the job, but I prefer the Kobalt.
Kobalt is fast on most if not all cuts. Has 3/8" more stroke length. Length does matter.

I went to Huntington Beach SoCal, web site said in stock but no available. They checked their inventory around town and it shown 8 in Santa Ana SoCal. Got one at the end cap with sticker $60 clearance price, 5 left on the shelf around 9:30 PM PT.

Costa Mesa also has 6 in stock when they checked their computer.
I mean, it's a good price, but not a great run-all-over-town price.

Yeah, the Kobalt is better, but I have no problem grabbing the Ryobi if it happens to be closer when I need to grab one.

Thanks @ rm-rf: I was in need of one to cut down some parts of my wooden fence. Went to the store in my neighborhood and got the last one for $60.. The employee told me this was the same as the new version just with an older (picture) marketing box. So make sure you scan all the boxes!!! Happy Hunting..

Got one at the West Covina store. They have two on clearance as of 9/28/24 , so there's still one left. This is in SoCal.

Went to my HD (listed as limited stock) and couldn't find. Even had an employee diligently search for it. No luck.
I was wondering if they sold the display but wasn't sure, forgot to ask. I might go back and give it a shot. Any tips or anything I should know? Can it be returned if there are issues?

For anybody in Orlando, I picked one up at Millenia HD on Saturday. Online, said they had two in stock, so I head out to check.

Very hard to find, the first one that they pulled from the locked shelves rang up as full price. After a manager trying to figure it out for a bit, we realized that it was the newer version (with a different SKU) and not on sale. They said to check end cap clearance areas, but none found. They thought they must be out and inventory was wrong.

I spent a little time looking at inventory on top self and spotted more boxes, employee said those were the same new ones, but finally aggreed to pull the ladder and get one down. Turned out to be the version that was on clearance.

They actually had three in stock, so there may be two available. If you go, they were stacked on the top of the shelves directly above the Ryobi display, not the one in the lockup below.

Same with me, the employee helped search through the top top shelf but they only had the display model. He opened a new battery to check that there was nothing wrong with it. I thought he told me he'll take 20% off $60 but I guess he told the checkout counter to take off $20, I was like hell yeah! They did give me a receipt so I assume it can be returned.
