The Hyken remains one of the worst chairs I have ever owned. I went through a piston pretty early and had to replace it, and the material is very stiff and scratchy. It has caused every piece of fleece I own that touched it to shred and pill immediately. It gave me back issues for years until I finally picked up a Herman Miller.
The once nice thing I can say about it doesn't take up very much space. I want to throw out the one I have but I'm worried some poor bastard will come and pick it up off my curb and suffer and I can't do that to my fellow man.

I use it 3 days a week. I am pretty slender. The metal must be very soft for this to have happened. You can see the metal all pushed up and deformed from the original hole.
Bought this chair from previous recommendations off Slickdeals. Would recommend looking elsewhere.

My experience is totally opposite. I have had it for over 6 years and No problem at all. I love the chair. At least for me and my son, it fits well and very comfy.
My son has the same chair for over 3 years and no problem either.
As matter of fact, this chair is the best one I have ever had. For $100 range for a chair, this is it. I am getting another one for my daughter.
I got this for work about 2 years ago. At first, it's at an okay comfort level. But then the mesh where your butt sits sort of starts to sink.
The hydraulic for the height adjustment stopped working. It won't stay at the tallest setting, and just falls when you sit in it.
I would recommend steering clear of this chair.
I did add longer 100mm screws and 2.5 inches of spacers under the armrest to drop their height.
I also swapped the castors for fixed castors.
At max height, my legs sit at 90-degrees, my arm rests are now perfect at setting 4 of 5, and my lumbar and headrest sit perfect for me, at 5'10" / 184 lbs.
