Given what happened at Intel, these are defect chips not even worth $46.89. Not sure why it can continue to be sold at the market. It's basically a fraud.

Are all the chips defective or only a group of them?

A lot of people are down on the high end Intel chips but, realistically, winter is just around the corner. Sure, you can go waste your money on a plug in electric heater, but why not heat your home and have some compute power to go with it for free?

Gamers Nexus covered this in great depth on their YouTube channel in multiple videos, so that is the best place to get the most accurate and complete info regarding this. Basically there are 22 different CPUs from 13th and 14th gen that have the same problem where they will internally degrade and cause intermitent issues and slow down until they have permanent BSOD and never boot due to internal degredation. Intel says a BIOS update will fix it, but it hasn't and people's CPUs are still failing AFTER updating their BIOS. Below is a link to a pic of the 22 chips types of defective CPUs:

Per Intel link:
https://www.intel.com/content/www...ssors.html
i9-14900K is one of the chips with the problem.

Per Tom's Hardware link:
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-c...processors

Intel extends the 3 yr warranty to 5 year on these 13th and 14th gen chips.

Buying this chip brand new today is ok for the next 5 yr. But make sure 3~5 yr from now you dont buy used chip from ebay or anywhere, it is almost 100% to get the typical windows blue screen of death.

Keep in mind, the resale value of this chip 5 years from now may be bad.

No everyone knows about computer chip issues. Some folks are still buying. I think even manufacturers are still pumping out PCs with these chips.

If you already have an AM4 motherboard, the 5700X3D/5800X3D is good. If not, then go 7800X3D.
