I've had this GPU for a little over a year. I can honestly say the cooling on this thing is incredible. And AMD has been pretty consistent as far as their drivers are concerned.

I bought this card for $830 June 2023 on Amazon during a flash sale. Kind of crazy that it took this long to drop below that price. It's been a solid card though. I have been 4k modding Skyrim with Nolvus V5 mods (roughly 1800 mods) and my VRAM has reached as high as 20gb. This card has handled it all without issues.

Rumor, $700. 8800xt is already making these impossible to sell. The 7900xt 7800xt are way overstocked, selling like dogsh.. They'll have to firesale eventually.

AMD said they aren't making anymore high end graphics cards. They are going to focus on lower end cards, cause game companies only optimize for Nvidia cards cause of their market share. So the 7900 xtx will be the last top tier for awhile.

Honestly, when comparing generations it is pretty difficult to define "low end" and some times there is a large gap between generations and sometimes there is none.
2080ti vs 3070
6800 vs 7700xt
3060ti vs 4060ti.
3060 vs 4060.
If the 7900xtx performance is at the 500-600 price point AMD will do well next gen. As of now however, the 4080s is at $980 and the 7900xtx is at $820. This is better than the 15% discount I require meaning for gaming this is the better option TODAY. However, I would wait.

This is misleading. Basically AMD is not going after the 4090 market. 4090s are competing for sales between AI farms and gamers. If you aren't in the +$1500 tier of graphics card you will still have a choice between AMD and Nvidia and possibly intel
