My nephew sells a lot of ebay stuff. He advises AGAINST a good strong tape for shipping, he says a strong can be pulled apart without ripping. And packages won't always show if they have been opened.

I think that the bigger problem with this tape is OVERPROTECTING an item. I feel some people want to make sure stuff is covered in tape, and in the process of undoing it, it can easily destroy the item inside. The tape doesn't really tear, it stretches (and when stretched too much, turns to basically a plastic wire). You pretty much need scissors/knife/boxcutter to open and remove it
One thing about tape: Tape isn't Tape, each brand or type can be pretty different.. if you ever use the cheap dollar-store type of stuff, it's definitely nowhere near as good as this. Some of the ones with dispensors also have a lower amount (so instead of 54.6 yards, it might be 14 or 20 yards).
YMMV, I've bought a bunch of different types over the year, these ones were always good and I stuck with them. I'm sure there are other comparable or better or cheaper brands, but I know these are solid at least
