For those that don't know, these digital Ryobi inflators can easily be reset to correct the PSI readings. Put a battery in, turn it on, hold + and - buttons together until the digital screen resets. This will make the reading accurate to within .5 psi if yours is not correctly calibrated from the factory

This beats the old version by miles. I switched all our crew to this style. No more waiting around to hold the trigger. Set the psi and it pumps to the exact number

Got this last night. HD "service desk" didn't know where it was. I asked another guy and he took me right to it. Tried today. Seems OK. Two disclaimers noticed in the packaged instructions:
1. Gauge may not be accurate(!)
2. Should not be run more than 5 mins. at a time.
I tested it out on an air tank and it seemed to take 1 min/PSI, 90 to 95 psi.
1.5 A/hr battery almost entirely drained doing this.

GI/Vets discount easy and welcome at HD with this item even tho it was on sale.

Anyone have experience with accuracy of the psi gauge? I have old trigger one with analog meter. Trigger with digital meter. And combo inflator/deflator and all of them are always off 8-10psi on average

Even the old (Ryobi) ones are ridiculously convenient for adding a few pounds when the seasons change as compared to wheeling my corded compressor up the hill or buying another portable tank to replace the long-expired one, but I still can't shake the feeling - especially with the physical dimensions of this one - that the components inside the green plastic are the more or less the same as the ones inside the $5.97 yellow cigarette lighter inflators (which I do have stashed away for emergency use only.)

Picked this up yesterday and so far I can tell that it pumps the same as the previous version, which I also have. Wouldn't be surprised if the pump is identical in both. Only thing different is you no longer have to continuously press the trigger to pump. That's it.

It's not an especially great value for (the additional) $40, but if you don't want to spend $100 on multiple 4Ah batteries and a charger, it is what it is.

I have the trigger and like it a lot for inflating my lawn mower tires or small tires. It works great for those I need to do in a minute. But for a car tire. I could see where that becomes a problem.
