Bought this about a year ago, same price. Good deal for how powerful it is. Sucks everything you throw at it and use it in the shop with woodworking tools, table saw, with a Dust Deputy cyclone. It's large and loud but can't be beat for the price. If you're looking for something quieter, the Dewalt Stealthsonic is incredibly quiet.

Dude. It's one design out of many out there, many superior to this one I'd say. I found this brand's design weird and didn't figure it out, their manual just said "push". Okay, with that attitude you can use your beloved vacuum and I'll just use my other brand. Sucks to be you for that ridgid mentality.

I have the larger version of the rigid NXT shop vacuum and an older version (pre-nxt) of the one being sold here. I just want to say the NXT vacuums are horrible. The old design was far superior. The issue lies with the filter and water float. The old version used an actual round ball as a water float while the NXT models use an upside down cup. The NXT version is VERY prone to debris binding up the water float. The next issue is the filter. The old version used a nylon lever thingamijiggy that held the filter on while the NXT vacuums have a spear head the pokes through a hole at the bottom (top?) of the filter to hold it in place. Like many people, I clean the heck out of my filters to get as much life as possible. With the NXT filters, the spear head holder eventually wears out the rubber endcap hole on the filter. The new vacuums are made cheap and this is what I would expect as the normal price.... Paying $100 bucks or whatever some seemed to have paid reading the comments makes me wonder. I just don't understand how HD/Rigid can release a cheaper made version of their vacuums and charge more. I don't even want to bring up how my older pre-NXT 5 HP Rigid was $25 (Yeah, it was 10 or so years ago). Even with the combined 17% inflation we all have experienced these last 3 years, it still doesn't add up to the current MSRP.

This is the best price i have seen. I own this. Works for blowing up inflatables and draining water from a broken sprinkler pipe in the front yard.

Replace filters and you are good.

I also have the Rigid car detail kit unopened because I am a slickdeal hoarder.

Yes you can. I sucked water for 2 days from a broken pipe. Then realized I can shut that water off. Houses are tricky

Sometimes being a procrastinator works out. Usually, I might miss the deal. This time I didn't order yesterday when the list price was $59.98 and sale price $59.88, but no veterans discount. I had one of this. It is basically indestructible. I clean it by spray water (yes water) everywhere including the motor (of course not when plug in). Still work like charm.

Thanks for clarifying, both of my ridgid vacs are a little older, and have a plastic nut you install to hold the filter.
