Overkill unless you really plan your charging

I have a ton of gear at my desk. I thought I would need this plus 2 other anker type devices for a total of 10 usb-c ports and 5 usb-A! Haha

I end up using

2 ports a day that needs 15-30 watts power
5 usb devices that I charge over night with regular 5watt power. 3 phones, 2 other hot spots. All low power needs so I used an old 5 port thing since the magnetized charger cable are all low power anyway.

100kw from a docking station for laptop with video so I don't use special chargers

I thought I would be charging a ton of my usb-c related gear but ended up not using most of the high power ports. lol.

Moral of the story, check if you will use that much power across that many ports that often.

Yes it's worth it. It's one of very few charging stations that I've used that actually seems to have dedicated circuits for each input. That means I'm not seeing disconnects when you plug another device in. This would drive me nuts with my ROG Ally X which charges at about 100W. I'd plug another device in on a less unit, and it would temporarily break the charging connection on the Ally. Anyway, yes it's great.

Wow you can manually adjust the port power delivery with that knob. That's pretty cool.

Dang, I was planning to get the cheaper 200w version for $56, but like you, I really don't like the disconnect and reconnect every time I plug or unplug.

I also have the cheaper one, btw, and it definitely has the disconnect/reconnect issue. It's nowhere near as "intelligent" as this 250W one.

Part of the reason for this charger is that it's so good at not disconnecting other devices when plugging/unplugging others. Sure, the 250W peak is excellent, but for me it wasn't even the primary reason to get it, though I do enjoy getting ~3/4 of the way there often.

I have to check if my anker will disconnect power - if it did, I never noticed it with what I am charging since my computer is always on a DOCK and most things I plug in has a battery built in.

I mean, you could bring it traveling, but it's really designed more for a desk. For a travel adapter I recommend this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQRG65KS/

It also has dedicated circuits for each port, and is the reason why it's the best travel charger around.
