I just posted this in the old thread, I wish they would combine both to help people interested.

I finally got the 3.4 set up. For context I'm coming from an Onkyo TR-NX 818. It had 130 watts per channel vs this at 100. My first day setting it up and playing around with it I was underwhelmed. I purchased the Klipsch RP 1200SW at the same time to pair with my KSW 15. I've had my KSW 15 for over 24 years and it has served me very well. Switching to a two subwoofer system has been amazing. At first that was the only thing that had impressed me. I was really second guessing the purchase of the Integra.

This morning I got up early, moved some furniture around, and played with the sub woofer placement. Then I ran Dirac for the first time. I did the full placement testing with the supplied mic. WOW … everything came alive. I can't wait to try Dirac with my laptop, then I'm going to buy the minidsp UMIK-1 mic.

I wasn't expecting to be wowed this much, especially coming from an Audyssey XT32 set up on my old TX-NR 818. I know it will progressively get better redoing it with the laptop, than the new minidsp mic. The bass has really tightened up. Original I didn't have both subs parallel from each other, so that helped also, at least with some standing waves. I don't feel the need to invest in an Emotiva Basx A3, or an Outlaw amp anymore. I probably will once I upgrade to 5.2.4, but for now I'm set and satisfied.

If you're on a strict budget and need 9.2 channels then the Onkyo TX-NR797 is a decent AVR for that price. Just be aware it was released in 2019 so lacks some newer features. No Dirac Live, eARC, pre outs, ALLM, VRR, QFT, QMS, etc., just to name a few. If you don't need 9.2 then the Onkyo TX-NR6100 (7.2) for $399, at Amazon, will have newer features including Dirac. For an AVR with 9.2 channels there's nothing that can touch the Integra DRX 3.4 at this price for all that it offers.

Maybe if I was strung out on meth and trying to pawn it for Jellyroll tickets.

There is no reciever at this price with 9 channels, pre outs, HDMI 2.1 on all ports, and Dirac built in. Also higher grade components compared to similar Onkyo and Pioneer models.

If people aren't happy with XT32 and the new directional subwoofer integration(when applicable).
People are finding out about A1EVO script that gives very much Dirac performance that's including subwoofer integration!

All you need is $20 Editor app & REW which is free!

It's quickly becoming a game changer and so good people no longer feel the need to get Dirac especially for the cost.

You actually don't even need a new model, as long as you have access to the Editor app you can use it!
Could you please share some links to the app and A1Evo please?
anything from youtube explaining this will also be fine, i am a Denon entry level S770H user

This is junk and chassis rattles made of cheap materials.
Mine isn't "junk", chassis doesn't "rattle", and isn't made of cheap materials. You do realize that the RCA connectors and banana plugs are gold plated.

May be you have never seen a marantz cinema 50 or even a 70 which is sold by marantz on sale. Even a mid yamaha receiver such as V6A is better than this. Look at the weight of this receiver. Gold plated means nothing with cheap components. For $32, Sewell sells 12 pairs of gold plated banana connectors.

Just how do you know this?
Existing AVR Denon 3808ci
My evaluation so far on this integra ( main use is music not movies). Replacement choice driven by Denon vtuner downfall and inability to connect to home server (tired of lockups and restarts).
  1. I never ever had a AVR ( i owned at least 5) that top lid rattles when gently tapped.
  2. Cooling Fan is not whisper quiet.
  3. It does look and feel cheap (including the remote)
  4. Under powered. Decent not wow sound with manual level and eq correction with volume above 56 (for music with all channels stereo and restorer on)
  5. Not enough optic inputs; only one (for me)
  6. Speakers setup does not allow a second sub as a channel (or at least i could not find a way).
  7. Integra Control Pro interface timeouts and handshake with the receiver not reliable (wired receiver, wifi 6e mobile device)
  8. Meah sound compared with 3808ci
  9. I do like new streaming services capability.
  10. I wish it could drive Nanoleafs directly.
More to come ...

Another troll spouting BS. The Integra weighs the same as the Marantz Cinema 50, and about 10 pounds more than the Marantz Cinema 70 and Yamaha V6A… 🙄

The only one that has the option for Dirac is the Marantz 50, at over 4x the sale price of the Integra at $2500. I don't think there's anything the Marantz 70 or Yamaha have over the Integra, plus I've never seen either one on sale for the price the Integra is. The Yamaha doesn't even have preouts.

Although I don't like how these 2021 PAC AVRs set up their power under low impedance speakers, I wouldn't call this Integra junk! A better compare would be the Denon 3800 (and not the Cinema 50) since it was discounted < $1k this past holiday season for affordable Dirac!

I would never buy a Marantz model when the Denon clone exists (unless the difference was less than $200)!

Has anyone confirmed with Integra that Adorama is an authorized dealer?

I just chatted with Abt Electronics and they won't price match because they told me Adorama isn't an authorized dealer.

I buy nearly everything from Abt as I'm a local customer and trust them a lot.

However, I can see them having no interest in price matching this particular item as it's probably way under their cost.

At 4 times the price? MSRP of a new Marantz 50 is $2500 and this integra is $1500 so you do the math. Marantz runs sale often on 25% Refurbished by them on their site for $1399. Not everyone want to spend 1400 but when it comes to receiver one must think long term. A Denon 3800 $($899 deal)would be much stable choice than this integra.
Or may be you are saying this integra is worth $580 and if that's the case no it's not junk for people seeking a receiver at that price.
People should not think they are getting a $1500 receiver for $580 because they are simply not !

Um … ok …🙄🤭, you do the math Einstein. $579 x4 is $2316. No one has ever said at its list price of $1500 that this is the receiver to buy. At a sale price of $579 it's very hard to beat. I've only seen the Denon x3800 on sale for @ $900, if it was the same price I would take that over the Integra, but it isn't. To come on here and troll, advising a $2500 Marantz receiver against one that's on sale for $579 is ridiculous.

Funny how you didn't mention the Denon in your comment I responded to, but now you are trying to pivot to. I'm really curious how the Denon is the more stable purchase at $900, even though it isn't that low any more? The Integra has a 5 year warranty, the Denon has a 3 year warranty. I do realize that the Denon has 4 independent subwoofer outs, but that's not important to everyone. If I ever changed my mind I could purchase a minidsp and still come out ahead. Dirac isn't included in the Denon price, so that also has to be token into consideration. The extra 5 watts per channel the Denon has wouldn't be audible. Plus there is rumor that Denon maybe going under.

Kinda have to agree.
The only real perceived benefit is Dirac on this.
People always say & it has pre outs for just in case but then never use them!

Everyone thought that $899 deal for the 3800 was gonna happen again but never did.
The more realistic number is $1k for the 3800 imo.

If you're a Marantz fan and OK with manufacturers refurb that $1399 price is a really good deal imo.
If it was new would be hard pressed not to go with the Cinema 50 over the 3800.

The 50s performance is closer to the 4800 than the 3800 from my experience.
If you want Dirac, it matches well with it.

A1EVO is quickly becoming a game changer for Audyssey.
It's making Dirac benefit a non issue especially for the cost!
