I work from home and owned this for a year. I thought it was awesome at first. Very stylish and comfortable. But then the noise started. There was a loud creaking noise that would happen every time I adjusted my sitting position. I called customer support who were great about sending me some replacement parts but it didn't fix anything. Eventually I ended up giving it away.

I grabbed it last time. I'm 6'2 and the neck rest lands on my upper back/traps. It's only rotational adjustable not height adjustable. I have to slouch to use the neck rest. Not a very comfortable chair.

IDK why so many negative comments, I have two of these chairs. They have been great. I got it for 135 one year then this Christmas it was on sale got it for 79.99. the chair is better then any of those gaming chairs. If you need a new chair this is the one to get. I got both in red. If someone has squeaking issues two things. Either overweight or didn't tighten the screw with Allen key correctly. My two older teenagers love it.

Can anyone speak to how long this would take to assemble, or if they come assembled, or if Staples will assemble for you?

This is not bad for the price but if you work at home a lot I would recommend you look at used market for a Steelcase, HM, or Haworth.chair.

I got a Haworth Zody from Offerup before covid and it's still doing great. Had to replace arm rest but that's $20 off eBay.

Look it up, but I think some people install the headrest upside down to give it a little more height.

I'm 5'7" and this is one of the reason why I chose the Dexely over the Hyken. It's also more comfortable overall imo

I have the Dexley. The warranty is the best thing on these chairs. You will need it.

I am 5'11", 165lb, and have had the seat replaced and each arm replaced twice. It squeaks as well. But it works.
May I ask how you got the arms replaced? Mine are falling apart after 2 years. I looked into aftermarket arms but wasn't sure if they'll fit

If you had dropped off 40 empty ink catridges over the past 4 months, this chair would be Free.

There is a 7 year warranty I believe. I just called the staples warranty number.

I have 2 of these and they are great budget chairs for the price. However they do wear down overtime. The foam in the seat rips, the arm rest start to crackle, and the seat locking mechanism eventually gives out. Luckily it comes with a 7 year warranty so you can get replacement parts quite easily. If you're over 5'9" you'll definitely need to do the headrest mod which raises the headrest, otherwise it'll dig into your upper back. After doing the mod, the chair is much more comfortable. If you're tired to replacing budget chairs after a couple years of use, just get a Herman Miller. I recently got my Embody from a liquidator and it's a completely different experience (and price range).
Foam in the seat? The seat is all mesh, no?

There's foam at the very front of the seat near the underside of your knees. That said, I didn't experience issues with the foam like the other poster did.

That said, I did get the creaking other users reported, and also the hydraulic lift stopped keeping its height after a year or so. Replaced the lift itself twice under warranty then replaced the chair with something better quality when the third lift started failing; not worth the hassle to me. (And I weigh about 40 pounds below the limit, so that's not the reason.)

I had this a while, had to "fix" the back rest with a pool noodle.. it was not very comfortable after WFH for >1yr with this. Ended up having poor lumbar support.

This looks like Staples is trying to get in on the Herman Miller area of office chairs. If you got the cash for the HM, though I never had much of an issue with Staples brand. (Worked for Staples for 10 years as a furniture sales and office equipment.)

I have had 2 of these chairs. They are comfortable, but they do not last long.

FYI: Don't let anybody over 200 lbs sit on them.
The caster wheels are garbage. Switch them with better ones.
