I picked the phone up from the customer service desk. I traded in a Google pixel 7 pro and got the 256 GB pixel 9 pro xl for $146 after tax. There was a sim affixed to the pixel 9 box, but I wasn't asked to activate or anything. (The associate asked for my number to verify my Best Buy account, but that was it.)
Really hoping I can just port my number into this phone without first having to activate then cancel a new Verizon number.

paid the 99 with the trade in gift card. The gift card's remaining balance was $161. I just hope there's no claw backs or anything when I cancel tomorrow.
