PSA: Be careful if you're scheduled to pickup on Friday. The activation timer may starts on Friday but the CS aren't availble on weekends, which means you only have whatever hours left on Friday to attempt cancelling the line.

Nothing to add about this deal, but I got this phone a couple months ago and I have to say it's the best phone I've ever used. My wife got a Iphone 16 pro max and the camera on the Pixel 9 pro XL puts it to shame - especially when zoomed in. And the battery is usually around 40% when I go to bed at night after heavy use all day.

So if you're on the fence about this phone, don't be - you'll love it!

I'd go with a new number. ATT prepaid number might not be eligible to port to ATT postpaid.

That's possible but someone doing this with Verizon will need to confirm. I saw someone post their account has been created and setup while the phone was shipped but I might have read it wrong.

Not sure. They might be correlating something which is not there. If you are with ATT you can just upgrade with $35 extra activation fee.

It seems like ATT creates an account right after ordering the Pixel 9 Pro XL on the BestBuy website. Does anyone know if its possible to cancel the line right after picking up the phone without ever activating the ATT sim card and completing the number port? Also, does the 3 day cancellation countdown begin from the date the account is created or from when the phone is picked up?

Same here, I didn't get any papers besides the sealed box new phone with a Verizon sim card attached to the box. The rep told me the phone is already activated so just pop in the sim card and use!!
How am I supposed to cancel the service without the phone number or account number??
I thought about just ignoring the sim card but I don't feel comfortable with the Verizon agreement I signed when checking out so I popped in the Verizon sim card to get phone number then chatted with their live agent to disconnect the service same day to get a piece of mind!
After my account was disconnected I got the final bill $7.24😃

Oh my god, I can't keep track of what needs to happen. What's the smart play? Mail to home or store pickup? So many different takes on signing up, cancellation, etc. If I'm reading this correctly:

- I can get $325 for my pixel 7 pro, which appears to leave $84 left to pay
- I can select store pickup to avoid activation fee?? Is this true?
- If I select Verizon w/new number, there's no actual requirement to put the sim in the device, which means I never activated service, which means I don't have to cancel anything? I can just pull my sim from another phone and be on my way with existing service?

Explained what i did in Easy Way:
  • Purchase the Phone:
    • Bought a 128GB Google Pixel Pro XL from Best Buy for $399.
    • Selected the pickup option for the phone.
  • Trade-In Process:
    • Traded in my locked iPhone 12 with Metro PCS for a $320 trade-in value.
    • After the trade-in deduction, I paid $84 (including tax) for the Google Pixel Pro XL.
  • Set Up Verizon:
    • Signed up with Verizon while keeping my existing google voice phone number.
    • Ported my number from Google Voice to Verizon.
  • Disconnect Verizon Service:
    • After picking up the phone, contacted Verizon through their website chat.
    • Informed Verizon to disconnect my service, and they complied.
    • Verizon confirmed that I don't owe anything and the phone is unlocked.
  • Reclaim Google Voice Number:
    • I will be able to reclaim my old number back to Google Voice.

3 days is considered the day they created account.
Once you pickup the phone directly go to chat session and ask them to cancel dont insert the sim,
