The easiest way is get a new number with Verizon then cancel the service after pickup the phone. Then you can pop the T-Mobile sim in or transfer the esim which I did. Hope it helps to clear your confusion!
Once you pickup the phone directly go to chat session and ask them to cancel dont insert the sim,

- Purchase the Phone:
- Bought a 128GB Google Pixel Pro XL from Best Buy for $399.
- Selected the pickup option for the phone.
- Trade-In Process:
- Traded in my locked iPhone 12 with Metro PCS for a $320 trade-in value.
- After the trade-in deduction, I paid $84 (including tax) for the Google Pixel Pro XL.
- Set Up Verizon:
- Signed up with Verizon while keeping my existing google voice phone number.
- Ported my number from Google Voice to Verizon.
- Disconnect Verizon Service:
- After picking up the phone, contacted Verizon through their website chat.
- Informed Verizon to disconnect my service, and they complied.
- Verizon confirmed that I don't owe anything and the phone is unlocked.
- Reclaim Google Voice Number:
- I will be able to reclaim my old number back to Google Voice.
