Spend the extra on speakers
Though I don't own this unit, it has great room correction onboard and should be stellar for a small to mid size listening environment.
It also offers its own great room correction especially if you add A1EVO($20).
If that's not good enough, you have the full suite of another great RC Dirac at your disposal, which this doesn't.
If Dirac was a priority i suggest looking at the OB RZ30 for $749!
It would be a better investment imo.

If you believe that value is linear then its about in a class by itself
That is your opinion on Audyssey and the added A1EVO
If not, this is less expensive option.
Having experience with all other them, imo.
The RZ50 makes sense if you need the extra two channels.
The Cinema series makes sense if you prefer Marantz sound, understand you don't need Dirac and worth the extra cost.
I will mention Marantz & Dirac make a pretty good pairing.
If Dirac is a big priority the RZ30 is very enticing for $799 new/$749 OB imo

Here is one if you haven't.

Pioneer,Onkyo, and Integra are the same company now.
My opinion on this unit is, even at this price, it's a marginal unit at best. But having Dirac room correction may justify the cost. Dirac increases the channel separation and clarity, but the overall sound is a bit sterile.
I use this unit as a preamp with external power amplifiers. This configuration improved the sound.
Also be aware that some reviewers of these units claim that an internal " nanny" power circuit cutoff can be actuated without the user's knowledge, drastically reducing power output and sound performance.

It does not offer Dirac's subwoofer room correction bass control.
The 3800 offers both and highly rumored to get Dirac's newest room correction ART in the near future.

But I plan to make the upgrade to Higher end Atmos speakers later when those same sales return...I regretfully held back for $300 a pair for some good atmos speakers last few monthss thinking this sale would last a long time..now all those went back up to $350 to $599+.
