True, maybe a right angle adapter and just leave it on there so it just becomes part of the thing lol. Might be less cumbersome vs a cable.

With an extension cable, this would be no different than countless other cables external storage options. Either cheaper or faster, or both. Entirely defeats the purpose of this form factor.

This one's got dram. I thought the cheaper ones don't that's why they're slow
