I have this. I recommend also buying a spare battery, as the rechargeable battery's charge lasts about a month and the battery takes several hours to recharge. It's easier and ensures continuous availability to have a spare battery charged and ready to go.

Yeah, agreed. I moved away from myQ for garage door opener with an open source solution and much happier. I'd advise against getting locked into this ecosystem which wants to charge you monthly, unless you need the specific features. I would think most people would be better off with a surveillance camera system (ring, reolink, eufy, etc.) and a dumb keypad if you want to see who is opening your door.

Seems like an awful product. The non video key pads last for years

No way in hell I'm recharging this all the time.

I enjoy the MyQ devices, and recommend them for use in homes for easy ability to see if garage is open/closed, can add it to amazon deliveries for them to place package in garage, can schedule door close, can open/close from anywhere in the world if you have internet access

I ended up swapping my openers to new belt driven with myq built in so was able to get rid of the stand alone devices

Possibly the worst "smart" product I've ever had. Battery life is awful, signal strength is awful, misses events and as a bonus you get to pay monthly for all these features. Truly terrible.

If 3 months in eco is true then this is OK… my dumb keypad seems to eat batteries despite little use and I have to replace and sometimes reprogram about 3x/year.
That's if you turn off alerts etc. basically you now have a normal keypad that you can love into but you don't know when anyone is there without the service.

I use Tail wind with my Liftmaster /Chamberlain. Works great.

I have this. For some reason I thought it would let you open or close the garage by triggering the code remotely, but it does not. So it's effectively the same as a standard keypad opener with a camera built in. I would not buy again if I knew that before.

If it's not within 10 feet of a WiFi access point it's not going to send video. Weakest signal imaginable comparable to the previous winner of worst signal - the ecobee switch +

The remote part is the 20 dollar myQ garage door controller to get app control. This annoyingly still needs that hub for remote door control.

Whatever they say the features are now, just assume you'll need a subscription soon. Everything myQ is trash. Bait and switch is the business model.

I'd like to know as well.
I switched my house after 12 years of Orbi and Blink to Ubiquiti internet networking and cameras and don't know why I waited so long. Their hardware and Unfi Network is fantastic. You don't have to be an expert just an interest to learn something new and I love it all. Their cameras and home networking is awesome. Take a look.

I have one. I don't pay for the subscription and put on battery saver mode which makes it last for months. I use the camera to check if my garage is closed when I forget and use the keypad a couple times a week.

Same. I bought this on sale for like 49 and don't think it's worth it at all. I have the garage sensor and app so I can already open and close from my phone. This was sadly a waste of money Frown

Subscription only if you want video recordings, motion detection and people access it to open your garage. I only use it to check on my garage in case I forgot to close it and to open the garage. I bought this at $99 two years ago.
So without subscription, what can you do with the video? Nothing?

Yes they make a kit you can buy, or there are third party ones.
