Boost Mobile [boostmobile.com] has 512GB Motorola edge+ 2023 Smartphone (Boost Mobile Locked, Black) on sale for $59.99 + $60 1-Month Unlimited Talk/Text/Data Service = $119.99. Shipping is free.

This phone is now back in stock at Boost. It's a steal at this price still has better specs than most phones out there especially with 512gb of storage. I bought one on last years deal and was able to unlock it via one of the unlockers who were kicked off of eBay. Many didn't have the unlock codes yet back then but would assume their available now. YMMV. I currently use mine with Instabridge esim for 5gb of free data a month. Just bought another for my wife.

Note, on product page select "I don't want protection" or Boost Protect will be added to cart at $12/month.

Specs (source [motorola.com]):
Processor: Qualcomm SM8550-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm)
Display: 6.7" 1080x2400 165Hz pOLED
RAM: 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage: 512GB
Operating system: Android 13
Battery: 5100mah
Cameras:
Rear Camera Hardware - 50MP, 1/1.5" optical format, f/1.8 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 2.0µm, Omni-directional PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization, 50MP Ultrawide angle (114° FOV), Macro Vision, f/2.2 aperture, 0.64µm pixel size | Quad Pixel, Technology for 1.28µm, 12MP Portrait (2x telephoto), f/1.6 aperture, 1.22µm pixel size, Ambient Light Sensor
Front Camera Hardware - 60MP, f/2.2 aperture, 0.61µm pixel size | Quad Pixel Technology for 1.22µm

My recent order was one of the unsuccessful unlocks with thrifty.

So I had to go to thru

gsmunlockusa DOT com

It was $5 deposit through PayPal. And the code cost $1.95.
But here we are!
so are u saying one method failed, but the other was successful?

that is odd.

i would guess if thrifty method failed, they would all fail.

please clarify
Out of close to 200 successful unlock from this forum alone it was definitely a rare thing. There's many success stories along the way as all can tell.
A common question people have is "in which order do you unlock and activate". My answer is that it does not matter. I personally unlock my devices on first boot on the "Hi there" screen before setup and any network connection is made.
How do you unlock from the Hi there screen before setup and any network connection?
Insert any incompatible SIM card and you will receive a pop up menu asking for 8 digit unlock code.
Thanks for the tip . FYI another sucessful unlock from @ThriftyGame5232

Yeah, it really is a steal at this price.

even better when you ask for the $60 refund if you ported your number in.
How do you do that? I would like to

But I didn't want to lose my number or chance to get the rebate back on Captial1 shopping portal

They offer a 30 days money back guarantee on service, if you ported in your number. Call tell them you are unsatisfied and would like to be refunded. They will give you the opportunity to save the number by porting out, as long as its still within your 30 days of original service.

I am not sure why using the Smart Connect app on the phone is such a problem for Frank. The big PRO is the desktop experience like Dex. We all know about screen mirror whether wireless or wired. The Motorola Edge+ 2023 has both wired and wireless Smart Connect capability and has more versatility with monitors, televisions, Firestick/Chromecast and PC. Most phones are getting boring with features. Marginal improvements yearly with better processor, better screen and better camera. Not really noticeable. Innovation is lacking but Motorola has an interesting Smart Connect to me. Will a Motorola Edge+ 2023 replace my desktop? No but I can find it useful or enjoyable. I don't think it is a useless gimmick.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z-W...VjdA%3D%3D
What's sad is that apparently it's not available wired on any of their 2025 models, according to their own website. Smart Connect Compatibility Chart| Motorola Support US https://share.google/kN9y1PtE9MKQd6XMl

Posts with people complaining about it on newer phones:

Why does edge 60 series had ready for(wired usb c display feature) removed https://www.reddit.com/r/motorola...are_button

Not sure why Frank keeps insisting this phone can't do Display Out without the smart connect app, when I've already proven that it will. It's not some special feature, literally any phone with USB 3.1 and 1.4 display out can do this.
Yea. I just received my cable and used it with Pixel 9a with direct connection to my Samsung television. The screen is simply mirrored but it has pretty big bars on the sides and top and bottom even when you go full screen on the phone. Not terrible or unusable but it is still a con as people prefer to fit the entire television or monitor. When I use Smart Connect (wirelessly) with my Motorola Stylus 2025 as I didn't receive my Edge+ 2023 yet, I get the desktop full screen experience on the Samsung television. The screen isn't shrunken down. I was watching Amazon Prime tv show and the screen was much smaller with the Pixel 9a compared to the Motorola G Stylus 2025 Smart Connect that used the full entire screen. There are definitely more benefits as well with Smart Connect over wireless/wired screen mirroring.
It sure is a shame that they took away the wired connection with the later models especially for people who want to game as lag is possible with wireless. Gaming with lag is pretty much unusable to me. Cost cutting move. I don't game much on phones but with a direct wired connection to a large television, I could be more interested. I play more simple games and not the heavy demanding graphic games.
  • I tried the Pixel 9a with direct cable to HDMI switch to my HP monitor and was using logitech Bluetooth mouse, logitech Bluetooth keyboard and JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth speaker. I like it but it is a bit off with just screen mirror. Even if you put your chrome app in desktop mode, the text is still too big. I want to see more screen. I am sure Motorola Smart Connect will perform more effective and user friendly with a mouse, keyboard and speaker.

Can any other Boost phone be network unlocked by buying an unlock code? Like iPhones (15, 16e) or the Samsung galaxy ones?

Can I ask for the refund if it's a new number?

My next question is "would I have to return the phone"?

anyone wanting to port out of boost please pm me.

i will port out the number from boost to metro.
once that happens , your boost account will be cancelled/closed.
effectively ending your obligation with boost.
while this is quite common here on slick deals,
do your homework. read up if un sure.

assumptions:
--you do not care for the number, as you will lose it.
--make sure u have satisfied the requirements for boost.

that is:
activated the boost number on your moto phone.
made a call or 2 (not needed but out of completeness to active on boost network)
sent a text or 2 (not needed but out of completeness to active on boost network)
unlocked the phone (not needed but this is whole point of getting the phone)

from boost u will need:

--the account number
--port out pin
--maybe your zip code
--the telephone number of course

u need to send that information to me via pm
What is this about? Is this a guide for those parlaying the Boost deal to get a metro port in deal? If so, what you've written is pretty complete - what's the need to PM you?

So a Visible phone number is $25 - $6 but isn't there another eSIM offer that's less? Infinimobile or something?

What's a source that I can port-in to Boost for this deal, call in for the 30 day refund reducing the price for this deal by $60, then port the number out to do the Metro deal?

I know it's a lot of steps but I'll do it.

For some stupid reason, Motorola decided to hide the ability to view "screen on" time on all their phones after the update to Android 15. To bring it back, install Shortcut Maker from the Google Play Store. Go to Activity, search for Battery Usage and create shortcut.

Yes, that was user error as everyone can see. My success rate is as I've mentioned and trust me right here, if there was a bad thing to say people will say it and there hasn't been anything bad. Thank you all. The only other person that has this problem which was 1 quite possibly also been a type-o and I copy it with no changes.
Hey Thrifty,

I need help getting my phone unlocked. Can you send me a DM?
