Be careful with this deal. I preordered the z fold and paid the full price and did the trade in promo. I sent the phone and received the 1,000 credit on my account and got it back to my debit card. I then got them to unlock my device early. I used my att sim in the phone and decided to cancel the line. I look at my bill and there is a charge 1,000 trade in reversal. They said you cancelled so you loose the trade in promo. Anyone else experience this with spectrum and if so any tips?
that's interesting. This was paid-in-full, right? you didn't the z fold on monthly payments? Also did you get a free spectrum mobile line with z fold 7 or did you already have the spectrum mobile line before the purchase? Also, I'm curious why you pushed to unlock the phone within 60 days, when the policy clearly states to have the new phone active for at least 60 days before it can be unlocked?
honestly, in your case i would've told them that you were never told the line had to be active for X amount of days for pay-in-full, or else the trade-in promo would be reversed. Have them show you the fine print where it clearly states the policy in writing. I would try going to a retail store.

yeah that $1000 chargeback is highly unusual and without precedent that I'm aware of. Nowhere in their terms does it state you have to stay for X months to keep the trade in credit. Clearly the guy paid in full, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten it lump sum.

well, unless we see the order receipt we don't know if he paid in full or what the details of the purchase are. the trade reversal shows $1000 as that's the total amount of promotion, without any monthly payments deducted. i'm very curious if this was a new line opened to take advantage of the promo, and cancelled within 30 days and a "money back guarantee" was triggered or maybe even a refund? And since Spectrum didn't get the phone back, they hit you with the trade-in credit reversal, so it's like he simply bought out the phone. perhaps that's why it was able to be unlocked early.

Just curious as to why you cancelled the line? Don't you have to wait 2 months for the unlock?

My trade in was confirmed on 7/24. Still haven't received the credit in my account. Worse, Assurant started emailing me with a new trade in offer with a different offer code, as if the original trade in never happened. I just got off the phone with Spectrum and, initially, they only showed the incomplete offer. They were able to look up the completed trade in when I provided them with the offer code. They told me I had to wait 2 full billing cycles before they can help. Hopefully it shows up but I'm wary given how fast they've appeared in the past as well as that 2nd trade in offer that spontaneously appeared. Looks like I'll be in for a fight next month. Ugh.

I placed the order in store on the first day of the preorder paying in full. I believe I was just shy of 30 days, I received it July 24th I believe.
08/27 - received an email "refund ticket has been reviewed" chatted CS to confirm. CS told me it's finalizing for refund.
08/29 - Credits refunded to my CC.
final deal - traded S25+ for $1387, $10/month for 1 yr. lil worried but happy with the deal.
