The Lenovo Legion Go (minus the S model with Steam OS), Asus ROG Ally, and MSI Claw models are all Windows 11-based. They all have a gaming app interface that loads with Windows but you are dealing with having to install separate game launchers and essential updating and navigating it like a PC when you are not gaming. This is difficult for some due to small touchscreen or controls (you can link a bluetooth keyboard and mouse) but again, not a simple jump in and use interface like the Steam Deck.
However, Windows is working a "handheld gaming OS" that will mirror what Valve has done with the Steam Deck, which we will see debut with the new Xbox Ally X later this year and be made available for the ROG Ally and Ally X models.

1. Steam Deck has a large catalog of games and works out-of-the box without launcher installation. It is like having a handheld console. It is super easy to use and optimized for handheld user experience.
2. Legion Go and other windows devices. Are not optimized for handheld usage. Its like using Windows on a 7-8" touch screen…and there can be issues with that.
3. However almost all game launchers and games can run on a Legion Go.
4. This is NOT true of SteamOS/Steam Deck. There are some games like Fortnite and others with anticheat software that will not run
5. Some games are too demanding for a Steam Deck
6. If you are computer savvy and willing to learn to interact with Linux you can get some games from other Stores/Launchers to run on Steam OS/Deck.
I love my steam deck. However, I also like accurate descriptions for potential buyers. Otherwise they will be dissatisfied.
The original poster on this subthread asked about a Steam Deck vs Legion Go for his son. My son plays Fortnite and Roblox. Those will NOT run on a SteamDeck or Steam OS. He is getting a Legion Go because he can also use it as a home PC. He made this decision OVER a Nintendo switch as well.
You can't go wrong as long as you understand the differences, choose what fits your wants, and it fits your budget. Otherwise they're all the same thing
it shows there is 1 left right now
