feel like this is made for European cars that are driving on the left side of the street. The interior camera is on the wrong side. I usually put this next to my rear view mirror which would basically block the camera.

also no Wi-Fi. Good price but Wi-Fi is more common today. it's nice to be able to connect without having to pull the chip out.

My current setup being in the right upper corner of my windshield doesn't help this. But still a lot of features for the price.

Beginner question :

What is the power source for these cams to record when the vehicle is off ?

How useful are these to record when you're not in the car but parked somewhere and out of the vehicle
(example : parked overnight in a hotel , or parked all day somewhere ) ?

Will the car's battery be depleted ?

Are there any that have features such as :
-- record for a set amount of time (X minutes ) after the car is turned off (to save battery ) ,
-- and automatically shut off if battery is running out ,
-- etc ?

This one has a Li-ion battery that will support, I assume, a very limited time when the car is turned off. Depending on how you wire it into the car, it will either disconnect from the car's battery which the ignition is turned off... or not. If you have it constantly connected, it will deplete the car battery when parked. Just how much... I can't say... but I guess maybe it would be OK for a day... maybe two.

This camera system doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Having 3 simultaneous video feeds being a saved to an SD card is asking a lot from a card... and definitely a small cheap one. A quick read thru the 1-star reviews is enough for me to pass on this.

Copy/Paste from a post for this same product.

I bought this in March or so, returned it after 5 days. Check out the footage. Yes the windshield is a little dirty, but plates should still be visible with other dash cams.

Front Dash Cam, daylight [youtube.com]
Directly in the sunlight. At 0:17 you can see the exit sign clearly, A+ on that. However, at 0:45, you can see a jeep passing me, yet it's somewhat difficult to see their plate.

Rear Dash Cam [youtube.com]
Directly in the sunlight. Forget about it!!! My rear tint was replaced in January, so I don't know what those bubble looking things are. and at 0:52, I pass a car but I honestly can't make out ANYTHING in this.
