For the sale price yes. Full retail, no. Went from a sealy office chair (pleather) to this and there is a big difference, still use it daily but I do not think they are $300+ chairs.

I bought this the last time it was on here except it was $120. I'm 6'2" and just under 300lbs. I have lower back pain and coccyx pain, this chair doesn't fully alleviate the issue, but it is better than my previous chair. The bolts to assemble the chair came with thread lock pre applied, but I went ahead and added more. I do not regret my purchase. Some people suggest buying a higher end chair USED, but everyone around me price their stuff like they want to keep it. Weight limit on this chair is 275lbs, but I'm not sure if that's the frame or the class III lift cylinder. The frame seems to handle my weight fine, and if the lift cylinder gives out I'll upgrade to a class IV.

This chair is never available at 'full retail'. Staples always has it on sale somewhere between 119.99-179.99, the MSRP on all these chairs is a pipe dream. All of the chairs sold in office supply stores should not be purchased above $199.99 (maybe you could put the highest-end La-Z-Boy chairs like the Aberdeen in the $250.00 range, but almost without fail all of the Dexley/Hyken/etc stuff is really worth about $130 at most and can almost always be had for that price).
As for quality-- it's decent, if you're stocking up an office you could do worse. If you've got the money to spend and wish for something better, something like a good Haworth on a discount would be miles and miles better than anything like the Dexley.

i bought this about 10 yrs ago on sale for like $90 or something. over the years I think i replaced every single parts on this chair. good thing about this is all replacement parts were provided for free from warrantee. worst part of this chair is that it does not lock the chair on leaning position.

my next chair definitely won't be dexley tho. i spend 8+ sitting on chair in front of computer. I think investing in good chair is a must if you are in a situation like me.

I have it and it's not amazing, it gets the job done. The headrest hack helps.
I sit criss cross on my ankles and the plastic mesh tore my ankles up.

I bought this chair to replace one of those cheap bonded leathers that fall apart and leave pieces everywhere. I ended up sticking to the bonded leather one since my use was for home use. This is definitely a work chair to be upright and actively working. This is terrible to relax in, like one person said, the lean back doesnt have a lock which a lot of chairs dont have but this char requires quite a bit of force to lean back in and doesnt go as far back as many. Also, it has quite a bit of that slope forward feeling in the seat which makes it hard to relax in.
If your using it in a real office this chair would be ok, but not for home use watching movies, gaming and chilling.

Check your local public surplus auction websites, too. I just got a Steelcase in great condition from a local government building for $6.
