It's used to make your Carplay wireless if you have only a wired connection.

Bought this to use on my 2016 F-150 which has Sync 3 and it didn't work. I threw it away.

Bought for my 2017 Explorer. 4.3 stars and about 70% less than the other deals posted. Hopefully it works!

Can someone share thoughts on how to switch phones that are paired to this device? It always chooses the last device.

Can't speak for the 1 star reviews but Amazon tells me I bought this in January 25'. Been using it with the occasional signal drops upon start up but it works pretty well once it gets going. Picking up a spare- no brainer at $11

I bought similar one over a year ago for $50. It disconnects frequently, there is a decent amount of latency while playing music, zero firmware updates. Really annoying part is it disconnects as soon as call comes through.

I have a carlinkit branded one that I've used for quite some time. Thing about these adapters is if the USB port doesn't output enough power you are going to have issues with it. My Nissan doesn't output enough power. In this case you have to use a usb splitter so you can feed extra power from a cigarette lighter usb adapter. So if this doesn't work in your car it's probably a lack of power issue.

For $11 I'm gonna try it, can always return it. Success vs failure seems to depend on your vehicle make/model, I'll roll the dice

If anyone knows of a unit that has an intuitive way to switch the connection quickly without messing with the phones themselves I would greatly appreciate it if you replied to this with a link to that product!

lol you dont understand the value in it, probably take less time to look at the item and find the value.

It makes your EXISTING car play wireless.
