FYI - You dont get a full year warranty on open box. I confirmed this with their support, even though Bestbuy says you have a full year. 1 year warranty gets activated by the first person who buys it
I got an open box excellent last week. The person who returned it only opened the cardboard part of the box. The laptop part was still plastic wrapped and new.

Probably a better deal WITHOUT that COPILOT. I would rather have a 0.00001% boost in performance than have another bloatware added to the sales of a computer.

It's a really inconsistent policy, but this is correct. I bought an Asus G15 back in 2021, open box from Best Buy. The previous owner registered it a few months before, so when I called Asus and they assisted with transfering the registration and warranty, it showed 9 months remaining.
I had a similar experience with an Asus RTX 4080 card, used from Amazon. The previous owner also registered the warranty before returning the product. I had to contact Asus support to get the warranty transferred to me, but Asus support came through again. I think it was a 3 year warranty, with around 6 months gone.
The most recent product I bought was an Asus ROG Ally, open box from Best Buy. This time, I had no problem registering it, and they gave me 27 months warranty, which I found strange. The ROG Ally had a 1 year warranty, increased to 2 years as a result of their SD card reader troubles. They indicated the warranty started January 2025, and ends January 2027. This unit was manufactured 5/2023, so it seems Asus restarted the warranty on it. I wonder if it received a replacement SD card reader and the original owner received a replacement unit, while this one was resold.
