Both brushed but at this price? Not bad at all. I have the oscillating tool and I have abused it for years and years and it will not die.

recently upgraded to brushless multitool. way smoother. its fantastic. the only brushless tool where i could immediately tell a big difference.

both of these should only be considered for light and infrequent use. The sander can be pushed a bit more, but if they still suffer from their problems of old, it could end up making your workpieces worse. The one I had was horrible and underpowered and would leave swirls constantly.

Did you need to use one of Ryobi's HP batteries to notice the difference vs the brushed version?
