Nice price! $59.99 for 252W.

But wait, doesn't the USB-A port at 18W max limit charging for most modern phones that need 25W+? Is this really a better deal than the Anker 547, or are we just buying this for the fancy LCD screen?

Don't buy it for the screen. The fancy diagnostic screen times out and goes to a Sabrent logo screen instead. You can turn the screen off at least.

I don't think you'd want it on all the time anyway for burn-in and power saving reasons? The only concern I have with this is it's not GAN but it appears to have all the safety features of Ankers.

You can charge on even as slow as 5w, no modern phone "needs" 25w.... 18w is plenty fast. Very minimal benefit for example from 20w to 45w on iphone 15 pro.

The majority of devices that can charge at >~15-18W require USB-C. Going over ~18W typically requires shifting from 5V to a higher voltage, and on USB-A that is pretty much limited to chargers and devices that support Qualcomm Quick Charge (QC).

I didn't even realize that my iPhone 13 could charge faster than my older phones since I just kept using the same USB-A charging cables I always used. I just happened to try the USB-C cable one day and was surprised to see it start at 5V like normal and then a few seconds later it shifted to a higher voltage that resulted in the phone pulling nearly double the power it normally did. I still use the USB-A cables for normal charging while I'm at home but in my bag I carry a USB-C cable with a lighting adapter attached so that I can charge either the iPad (USB-C) or the iPhone (Lighting) as quickly as possible.
