This 45 inch LG UltraGear ultrawide stands out as a productivity monitor, with enough width for three windows side by side and spreadsheets or work apps spread out comfortably. The VA panel is fine for office use, and the curve feels workable for long sessions, especially in stacked or multiwindow setups. The main drawbacks are the lack of USB C and power delivery, plus a 1500R curve that feels too shallow for some. Order cancellations and promo issues also cloud the deal, making it a strong workspace option if those tradeoffs are acceptable.
Common Questions (5)
The 1500R curve is workable for productivity, but it is not as aggressive as some buyers want for a screen this wide. It can still feel close enough for side viewing, though some would prefer a tighter 1000-1200R curve for a more immersive wraparound effect.
Yes. Several orders were cancelled after purchase, with LG citing a "system error" or saying the unit was unavailable, and some buyers were told to reorder after the coupon had expired. That makes the promo risky if you need the discount to stick.
No USB-C or power delivery is mentioned for this model, and that omission is a common reason it gets passed over. For buyers who want a modern single-cable setup, that can make it feel dated; for others, the low $380 price makes the missing USB-C easier to accept.
Yes. The super-wide 45-inch aspect ratio is useful for keeping three windows or spreadsheets side by side, and it works well as a work screen even for limited external-monitor setups. The VA panel is not ideal for everyone, but it is still described as good for office use.
Yes. A Windows app called RegionToShare can share a customizable portion of the screen instead of the whole ultrawide panel or a single window. That is useful on a very wide monitor when you only want to present one section.

I did order a second one last night. $399.17 after tax (think I used LG reward points from my first purchase). Don't really need it but I can find a use for it.

But I think if I have each one of these 45" monitors split into 3, they'll be too small compared to a 27". Plus the curve may be too shallow making it difficult to see things on the sides. Whereas I have my 27" side monitors and a good enough tilt to where I can easily see them with just a little tilt of my head.
I was looking into the Samsung 49" OLEDs or maybe even the 57", but they're expensive so I was going to just hold off for now. But this LG is making it tempting since they're much cheaper.
Thoughts?

What do you mean too small compared to a 27"? Physical size or resolution?
I do not know much about curves, but the curve on this one is working well for me. This is not scientifically tested, but I think I move my head 1-2 inches to see things on either side. I imagine that you have 3 27" monitors are having to move your head a lot more than that.
I love the size of this. I have also looked at 49" Samsung monitors but they seem much bigger. This LG has about the height of a 24" monitor I believe. Stacking them on top of each other will also reduce your vertical "tilling". 😊Vertical movement of the head puts more strain on your neck/spine or whatever than side-to-side. I think. Again, not a scientist here. 😊
My Amex Blue has a 4% statement credit offer for LG along with the standard 3% rewards for online shopping. I was able to get 10% cashback from another site.
(edit) Ordered cancelled
Have 30% CB available and even PP has 22%, but will need to sell those QHD ones which is a pain in itself.

I guess it depends.

When you look at the sides of the monitor, does it almost feel like the screen is very far away? As if you had let's say three 24" flat monitors side by side and you were looking at the ones on the sides?
I'm hoping the curve is enough to where I feel like the curved part of the monitor is almost as close to me as where I've placed my side 27" monitors. I know that's not a specific enough description. I guess I'll just have to see if I can find one to look at in person to really know.
