It MAY approach $20, but last year I played the waiting game into February and ended up paying $30, the best price at that time

I'd jump on it. No point to waste time and effort on keeping track of sales to save a couple of bucks. It is splitting pennies here, but technically, if you are due a refund of any meaningful amount, you may as well file early(ier) and earn an extra buck or two in a savings account or a CD.

I'll stick with FreetaxUSA.

Can't believe all these thumbs up… On this price point.

Historically, this is a very bad price…
But I guess some believe that this price will not go any lower… But history often proves that it will.

Newegg sort of screwed everybody last year by Holding firm on a higher price… And all of these people purchasing now are only reinforcing newegg to keep their prices high… Thank you in advance for screwing the rest of us when 1099's and W-2's won't be sent out until late January/early February.

To those posting that this is a great deal… You need to turn in your slickdeal membership
Half price is generally as low as it goes, at least maybe until near the end, and it's not worth waiting that long to do the return(s). They keep raising prices, so half price is more than last year.
You may save a few bucks if you wait until near the end, but not really worth it. And if they sold their inventory earlier, they don't need to drop it that low. For a product with few sales after April 15th (yes there are some still for extended returns or amended ones, but the bulk are likely gone by that date. If not, then they have those really great deals (probably a little before the filing deadline so they have customers).

This is way better than the Black Friday deals. Thank you Newegg!
No, I bought it from Newegg around BF when ALL were half price (with coupon code, which didn't work with cashback).

I might go with FreeTaxUSA this year too. Never used them before but PCMag says it's their preferred free filing service for what that's worth. I've been using H&R Block for a few years but their web site says State filing is $37 now, vs $16 at FreeTaxUSA.
Just checked. Same as it's been. $39.95 to buy the software (non-combined one bought, or additional state). E-file is still $19.95 and it explicitly says except NY, confirming that I already posted that I thought was the case -- NY is the only state that disallowed charging for e-file.

ebay large ink.. black + 3 color bundle= $4 shipped, re-buy every other year

And i've had my inkject from a sd frontpage deal for over a decade
I hope that ink doesn't run when wet. It's not impossible for mail to get wet, whether in the mailbox, at USPS, or after received. I've never printed important docs with inkjet unless they were proven not to run. Laser, or ink that doesn't run, Had an HP "pagewide" printer that I couldn't get to run -- soaked in the sink overnight, ran my finger over it in the water, nothing. Only inkjet I trusted to print important documents (like a paper filed tax return, which I don't do anymore).

What is a decent price for the Premium version? Is State filing included with the premium or it comes separate? I had been using Deluxe previously and having to switch due to a rental property. Thanks a lot!

If this is such a big deal, I'm sure someone in that thread will gladly buy the NordVPN off of you for $5 to $10.
All that VPN did was to slow down my computer.

Personally, it's worth the cost for me. $15 to keep from printing it out and going to the post office. That has a cost too.

I've always paid for deluxe + state and then been frustrated about paying to e-file. For those of you who mail your state, do you still buy deluxe + state? Or do you pay for vanilla deluxe?
I purchase the state version but then use my completed return to manually enter into my state's online tax filing if it's available to you.
I have an online account and it saves me the cost of e-filing it to the state through h&r Block

does anyone know which tax company allows me to do a efile for married but filing separately? Last year, i thought h&r block does it, but it didn't, and made me print it out to have my partner sign so I can mail it in

It's off-topic here. I don't want to come across like that guy, but you may be using the VPN for a wrong purpose and/or do not understand what it does, its benefits and disadvantages.

I'd likely jump on the Deluxe + State deal if I didn't have the usual free Best Buy gift card from an online survey site.

Last year BB's sale was $30 before applying the gift card.

Anyone know for sure what premium does over deluxe? I recall reading somewhere that there is nothing premium does that deluxe does not do but that seems silly. My taxes are complicated this year due to a small inheritance involving inherited IRAs etc.
rental property income or if you are self-employed, otherwise, get the Deluxe. They had language last year that made me think I needed Premier for investments, but it turned out to be false (as pointed out by someone here) as Deluxe had everything.

I have not seen any deals on Amazon yet and they typically have them this time of year. I only mention it because I tend to use all of my slow shipping credits from the holidays to buy at a reduced and/or $0 out-of-pocket cost if Amazon has a decent price.
I've done this exact thing a few times! Not last year though, since Amazon didn't put it on sale. Not this year either, as I'm going to jump on this deal so I don't have to wait around for a hopeful later deal.
