I've checked at two of my nearest HD's and both have this kit on a clearance price of $130.05 - NO HACK NEEDED!! YMMV

You get the 4-in-1 installation driver and 2x 2.0Ah batteries. For anyone looking for a drill driver kit for assembling furniture, or other light duty work, this kit is amazing. I've had this kit for 2 yrs now and have used it often to disassemble / re-assemble furniture when helping friends move.

The Milwaukee M12 Fuel 4 in 1 Installation Driver Kit stands out as a compact, versatile driver for furniture assembly and other around the house jobs, especially where a bigger drill or impact will not fit. The offset head and right angle attachment make tight spaces easier, and the magnetic bit holder plus slide in hex bit loading add convenience. The included 60 piece Milwaukee bit set is a nice bonus, and the kit has been picked up as an everyday carry tool. The reverse switch and top mounted direction button feel awkward, and local pricing and stock have been highly inconsistent.

Common Questions (5)

  • At $130, it is a strong deal when a store actually has clearance stock. Several comments note it is worth checking in person because website stock and pricing can be wrong, and some stores show higher local prices instead.

  • Yes. It gets virtually all around-the-house jobs done and is often the tool people reach for for simple home tasks, so a bigger and heavier M18 drill or impact is usually unnecessary for everyday use.

  • The offset head and right-angle adapter help it reach tight spaces, like furniture clips near a table apron or other spots where a standard drill cannot fit. The 4-in-1 setup is especially handy for assembly and installation work in cramped areas.

  • The front handguard and bottom slot are magnetic bit holders that can keep a couple bits on the tool, including double-ended bits like Phillips/flat head or Torx 20/25. That makes bit changes and one-handed use easier during quick jobs.

  • The reverse switch can be finicky, and the top-mounted direction button is awkward to use one-handed. Even with that drawback, the tool is still used heavily for most household tasks.

Still full price here in NC. Thanks anyway OP!
Except at stores that have it in stock and on clearance, such as Raleigh. They have 1 left at $179.

$229.00 here in Virginia. Sometimes these "YMMV" deals so local it could just be a computer glitch or pricing error. I lucked into mine two weeks ago @ $178.00 full kit with 2 extra 3ah batteries and a nice 60 PC Milwaukee impact bit set.
Had about 60 in stock for delivery when I popped and sold out an hour later.

One of my favorite & most used battery tools ever. Lives clipped on my tool bag with the offset & right angle heads. Gets virtually all jobs around the house done without having to resort to a bigger/heavier M18 drill/impact.Some people complain about the front 'handguard', but it has a useful magnet that can hold a couple bits. I keep a couple double-ended bits up there (philips+flat head & torx 20+25).Protip: Use your middle finger for the trigger, with your thumb & forefinger 'pinching' the top along the axis of the drill. Makes the top directional button a lot easier to use one-handed.
Agreed. Took me a while to use that trick but ever since it just makes more sense. Great tool

I just picked up that $178 deal tonight. Seems like they are restocking it here and there. Was only like 100 available and they were gone within minutes.

Agreed. Have a couple Milwaukee drills and drivers but usually end up reaching for this for most simple home tasks. Well designed - the magnetic holder is handy, and love that you can just slide the bits into the hex holder without having to pull out the ring first.
The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect tool is the reverse switch, especially for its common uses. It can have a bit of a mind of its own.
But I reach for this thing more than my regular drill\drivers for 95% of around the house tasks. One of my favorite tools. Was the hero of christmas eve putting some stuff together.

Yeah, but its Lodi. One of those has been used to mix an office building's worth of drywall mud, the other is just full of broken pieces of drywall mud.

Stores that have them in stock and on clearance will be less. Imperial Beach has one left for $130.
The associate showed me the IB and Lemon Grove as having one each this morning... very much doubt it's valid.

Found one in Elk River, MN. Display model tucked way back out of sight. Associate helped me find it. Website said none in stock, so it's worth it to check with someone. Mine was hidden under the locked rack that displays the M12 line. Hope this helps someone. Great deal for 130

I also love this drill. The offset bit head makes putting furniture together an absolute breeze.

But my god who ever designed that top mounted direction button needs to be shot. It's such a stupid design.

OK great. That's a good deal. I'll probably go for another one if I get the chance. The 60 PC Milwaukee bit set they throw in is pretty nice once I started looking at it. Didn't really need the 3ah batteries as I prefer a pocket full of the smaller ones, so I sold those today and recouped part of my $$.

To the people who got this, does the packaging have all the items together or do they part separate items as a bundle. There were a couple tools with the bag and attachment but not with the charger + batteries so they said they were sold out even though it showed stock online

None around me, no stock at all in all 8 stores within 30 miles, not that I need another one. Makes me think a redesign may be coming soon? I always thought they should take the M12 Surge, and add all the Installation driver's attachments to that, instant buy for me. I always reach for the M12 Surge first, smoother running, smaller, and just a superior all around impact for me.

I've been to HD a few hours ago and saw this deal in person, but when I go to the website, it's full price. So I'd recommend visiting your local HD and checking in person if you're interested
