The Odyssey Neo G7 is a huge 43 inch 4K 144Hz Mini LED monitor that works especially well as a mixed gaming and TV style display. At around $350, the price lands in the strong value zone for its size and feature set, with praise for its bright picture, good all around use, and solid single player gaming. It also doubles as a smart display with streaming apps and Ethernet support. The main cautions are its age, occasional black screen or overheating reports, and the fact that 4K text can feel a bit pixelated at monitor distance, especially for typing or competitive play.

  • The monitor can work well as an all-around gaming display when expectations match its limitations.

  • The monitor can deliver strong value around the $350 price point for single-player gaming.

  • The monitor can support smart streaming apps by using its Ethernet port for internet access.

  • The monitor can be a practical alternative to a 42-inch LG CX by offering monitor-focused software at a lower price.

  • The monitor can experience overheating and performance slowdowns within about 15 minutes on a PS5, including screen blackening.

  • The monitor can show periods of black screen across multiple sources and adaptive sync modes, while built-in smart TV apps may avoid it.

  • The monitor can have mild ghosting and slightly pixelated text at typical monitor viewing distances.

  • The monitor may be a poor fit for primary typing and reading because its size can make 4K text clarity less ideal at desk distances.

I was able to get the pricing through AAA and another 10% off (max $60) by signing up for text messages. $314.98 + $18.90 tax + free delivery = $333.88.

This was a good deal.

If your 32" are 1080P, you should notice a big difference. Any computer monitor that is 1080p over about maybe 24" is going to have blocky text as a computer monitor. I've been using a 39" Seiki 4K for ten years and will never go back to 1080P.
both are 3840 x 2160

I think 1000.00 is a bit high. I bought this from Best Buy in 2024 for 500. 350 is still a good deal IMO but it is def not a 1000.00 retail monitor.
same, using it right now, its a good all around monitor

QD-mini LEDs can get much brighter and has similar contrast as OLEDs without the trouble of pixel burn-in maintenance.. im in the market for one but this looks a bit lackluster. the new TCLs are rated at HDR1600, but the model that i want isnt sold on this side of the pond because of tariffs.

This is basically an alternative to a 42 inch LG CX types. Sure it isn't an OLED panel but it has proper monitor software that the tv moonlighting as a monitor doesn't. And you'd never get a CX at $350 so pretty great deal.

I never post, but I really need to add my two cents here. I bought one of these a while back for $500 at Microcenter. Out the box, this thing is SLOW. It doesn't seem to know if it's a gaming monitor or a smart TV, and lands somewhere in the middle: it's terrible at both. The picture is beautiful, but these are plagued with overheating issues that require warranty voiding modification. The first time I used mine, I played FF16 on my PS5, it only took 15 minutes to overheat (this is represented by the screen turning black for a short period of time, which grows longer and longer if you don't turn it off). I would buy this at $150 and mod it but frankly even $350 I won't touch it again.
Nice to know. Thanks.

Damn, this is sad. And I really had my hopes up regarding this monitor too.
