I've had one of these, didn't last long. Replaced with a lavatools Javelin which has been great and has lasted much longer.

I bought these. They are not instant read and take a long time to get a proper temp. I returned them.

All of these are "Temu" level knockoffs of Thermapen.

Agreed. Spend the money on a Thermapen device. They have a great warranty and make good products.

These are quick and accurate, but can cause fissures if you're not careful.

Is ThermoPRo actually any better than the other generic named versions?

I use regularly Lavatool's JAVELIN PRO CLASSIC for at least 5 years. The quality is good and recommended by a lot of review sites. It is little bit pricier, $43. But not as much as ThermoWorks / Thermapen (Kitchen industry standard)

One brand I would like to try is thermomaven. The price is $9 when it is on sale with NIST certification. Seems like a good deal even for $16. Still the certification can be too good to be true.

Just got mine. Feels incredibly cheap and disposable, but it is fast and gets the job done.

I've owned 4 of these. The cheap plastic housing cracks at the point where the probe pivots Every Time.

It's a shame because I really like them but not buying any more.

Truth. This is absolute garbage. Can't get it to work without replacing a perfectly good battery.

I have the Thermo Pro, and I can say it is absolute garbage. Does not work unless you remove and re-install the battery.
