The TX RZ30 is a strong value 9 channel AVR for Atmos setups, especially if you want Dirac room correction and dual independent sub outs. It is repeatedly framed as a better fit than pricier Denon and Yamaha alternatives when you do not need more than 9 channels, and the included calibration is praised for improving sound after setup. The main cautions are extra Dirac costs for Bass Control, a learning curve, and recurring concern about Onkyo HDMI reliability and shipping or warranty hassles. A solid pick for a modern 5.1.4 or 5.2.4 system if those tradeoffs fit.

In this case I did get lucky after all the back and forth BS, I have a brand new RZ70 sitting on the shelf, so that's my insurance.
If you need the extra channels then yes it would.
Some would say Dirac Live but with the advent of A1EVO Express, that advantage isn't really there anymore.
Here is a feature comparison.

-2 independent sub outs (rz50 doesn't have this)
-9ch is more than enough for 90% home theaters let alone a living room
-Dirac ready. Only need to pay for DLBC depending on your needs
Sure, next model will be capable of Dirac ART (very likely for an extra fee) but is also reportedly to be significantly more expensive
It has 20w more power per ch (they claim) - this is negligible
- 2 additional channels with an amp - 9 is plenty for most of us
- 1 additional hdmi port - few utilize all hdmi ports
-But it lacks a second independent sub out which to me is huge
Is there anything else??? Not like the DACs are upgraded.
If you don't need more than 9 channels(I agree most don't) and after Dirac , this is best unit to get especially for this price ime.
The new models adding access to ART will come with a hefty cost/MSRP.
Then you still need to pay an extra $600 to get it!
As great as ART is(own it) not many people will get the worth out of the high cost ime.
Just look at this past BF Dirac sale.
Denon/Marantz owners could have gotten it for $560.
Very few people bought it.
Most don't even find DLBC worth the cost imo.
If you use a sub(s), DLBC will suffice for most people ime.
