Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Seems like AI gone wrong. LOL
It got even worse after that.

-Spent 30+ minutes on chat
-Chat tells me to call Port department to cancel pending port-in
-Port department somehow doesn't know how to cancel port
-I get transferred to the noisiest call center ever
-After 45 minutes, they tell me to call Port department

This is way worse than AI. I'm done

They do over the air updates to sealed devices. Apple can update retail devices even when the device is sealed in the box and "off". Similar to your personal phone. When you turn it off, it's never really turned off. It's just in a deep sleep.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that was possible. Now I know.

Autopay is off by default. Just don't pay for 2nd month. Don't need to cancell manually. BTW, how were you able to order a tablet and watch (after the 1st phone) without being able to log into your account?

Well - my address changed. It's a new address and I still haven't been able to order a single phone despite the last order being 14+ months before. I don't know what their algorithm checks, but they do seem to restrict heavily.

Do u get port out info right away? And it works for metro? Total cost $5 for the number? Thx
Yes, that is how it worked for me. I had never even heard of number barn before this, read someone else in this thread used Numberbarn, so I decided to give it a try. Phone numbers vary in price, with premium numbers costing more, but there were a ton of them for $5....I purchased it, waited about an hour than successfully purchased this iphone while porting out the numberbarn number.

Thanks for the information. Did you receive the phone and complete the port? From what I've read, the number barn numbers are considered wireline numbers, not mobile numbers. Based on some of the comments, you may have to call metro and tell them you are porting a landline.

What did they say when you called? It took about 10 minutes for me to get it straightened out on a phone call maybe I got lucky.

Tracking show's the phone arriving tomorrow. My plan is to trade in the phone ASAP towards the Google Pixel 10a. For my situation, I probably won't go through all the trouble of contacting metro, but if you were keeping the phone it certainly could make it a bit more of a hassle.

If you don't complete the port, won't they remove the discount for porting and charge you the remainder of the $199 non discounted price?
