This is the older version, Neo 2 was released last October. However this is a good value right now.

isn't this currently or soon to be illegal to operate in the USA?

It's a bit more nuanced than that. My work has informed us that we're not allowed to use any Chinese drones, now. Might be because of federal contracts. So it all depends what you do.

No, US government backed out of the threat.

A single-word reply of "No" - as we all tire of the repeated proof of so many misinformed due to the circus that is the ill-implemented ill-communicated backtracked ban - is properly adequate. Because of the circus's many clown-acts, almost any detailed answer would still require a lot more nuance.

So, yes, most of us know that "No" is 85% right and the rest of the 15% produces migraines and can fill a book- written in pencil next to a worn eraser.

The question was just focused on "this", the Neo1 (an extremely unlikely drone spec'ed for a Fed contract), the SD demographic audience is primarily recreational / individual ... or if commercial, mostly private-sector (present company excluded).

Your work was the victim of the 12/22/25 operational prohibition on all Federal-funded (sub)contracts, but the nuance is: because the ban is ill-defined (mostly un-defined) by a randomly ruthless / threatening source, state/local are scared poop-less, so writing their contracts following suit. Add more nuances for this segment, as a growing list of exceptions (defense, airspace, police, safety) spelled clear afterthoughts.
