It's the Wh (Watt-hours) that matters for air travel - which is just Voltage * Amp Hours. For this battery, it is 3.85V * 24,000mAh = 92.4Wh, so it's under the 100Wh carry-on limit. You can carry on multiple <100Wh batteries without approval.
You can actually carry-on with batteries that have > 100Wh, but you need permission / approval and are limited to 2 usually.
*Note that there is a difference between the 140W output power (how fast you can charge) and Wh (total energy capacity).

Yes, I have it. Reason I got it is it's the max size allowed by tsa, never had an issue with going through security in 20+trips international and domestic

This is an excellent power bank. Got it on Woot for a bit more than this price - probably worth checking actual capacity if buying an open box battery though...

Thank you for showing us how to calculate this. I was just trying to see if my 20,000 mAh would make it through.

So for airport is the input or output wattage the factory?
You seem to be fixated on making this really much harder than it is.

There's a calculator on this page to help you along with all the other details.

https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsa...-batteries

It's the voltage and the amp hours of the battery, not the input or output wattage.

Go take a look at a battery and it will tell you something like "Battery Capacity: 5000 mAh 3.6 VDC". Most batteries these says will say right next to that what the watt hours is.

In the US anything under 100 Wh is fine, between 101 and 160 Wh requires airline approval and above 160 Wh is prohibited.

Geez a charging base for $280. Think I'll just plug mine in. Although, I could easily see the use case in a business or government entity.

The only factor for air travel is Watt-hours (Wh) - which is Voltage * Amp Hours. For this battery, it is 3.85V * 24,000mAh = 92.4Wh, so it's under the 100Wh carry-on limit.

The wattage input / output / 140W doesn't matter as it has nothing to do with Watt-hours.

Have this. Would go with INIU ultra compact. More warranty, more longevity. Less stands of flair and no Anker Tax.

LiFePO4 charging banks and power stations are appearing on the market. I believe I would hold off on buying this "old" tech.

That's for the charger AND the charging base. The charging base by itself is still expensive at $100 though.

Have the lower rated one and even it has enough output to power and recharge my laptop on the go - so much handier than finding an outlet!

Does BB even test these? Or are they grading based on cosmetic appearance?
