I got this in October for $20 for my 2016 Civic EX and it works great! At $5 this is a steal if you are even considering it.

i have this, works decently with an iphone 17 and VW dash. it will connect via bluetooth and doesn't require you to also connect via wifi. however, be aware that if you attempt to use your hotspot on the phone at the same time, it will disconnect everything. it's like it silently connects to a wifi network
audio sounds fine, it's not very jittery to display maps or transition between screens. there is a lag of about 1.5 seconds when you change a song, which is pretty average for these adapters. worth the price for sure

for $5 it's fine i think i've had mine a little over a year now
it won't load as fast as a wired connection but it connects most of the time and doesn't glitch during drives
there have been a few times it wont do anything when you start your car but it'll eventually connect after a minute or two
if it still doesn't do anything i'll have to unplug and plug it back in and it connects pretty quickly
it might depend on your phone because it worked almost perfectly before the latest ios update
it's more finicky now but not bad enough i need to return it and it's never had to restart or freeze in the middle of a drive as much as android auto used to do for me years ago

Got a few of these when they were $3. Have them as gifts and 3 for my personal vehicles. No issues.

Question - do these connect to the car as Android Auto but emulate CarPlay?

Quote from smalltimeprintfarmer :
my 2 Ottocast adapters are junk - any chance these are better?
I am using it and its good so far (1.5 or 2 months now )Once in a while it shows connected but audio doesn't come through. I have to disable and reenable it in car settings (or restart car) But overall for that price its much more convenient than using wired connection. No lag or anything such either

How do these handle two phones? Will it look for the last paired phone and just hang until it finds it? That's what my current one does, and it's annoying when my wife and I switch cars.
